The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Developer (Node.js/Python) based in Switzerland.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will help build the backend and AI systems that support an innovative, rapidly growing technology business in the electric mobility sector. You will design, develop, and operate reliable web services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python. The role offers significant technical ownership, from architecture and scalability to production operations and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with AI engineers to bring Python-based AI solutions into robust, production-ready backend systems. Working across product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and external partners, you will help deliver technology that supports critical business operations. You will also contribute to engineering standards, mentor colleagues, and help shape a collaborative, feedback-driven technical culture.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and operate scalable web services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, Python, and other appropriate technologies.
  • Act as a key developer for AI-enabled solutions, working with AI engineers to operationalize Python-based AI tools within Node.js and Python backend environments.
  • Make high-level architectural and technical decisions while balancing scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and maintain production-grade RESTful APIs, applying best practices around authentication, versioning, rate limiting, pagination, and service reliability.
  • Build scalable distributed systems using architectural patterns such as microservices, event-driven systems, and CQRS.
  • Enforce coding standards that promote clean, concise, stable, secure, and extensible software.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues efficiently to maintain system reliability and minimize disruption.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers, product owners, frontend developers, QA specialists, DevOps teams, and external partners to deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Own and prioritize the technical backlog while maintaining transparency around priorities, progress, and dependencies.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and engineering approaches and recommend improvements that increase speed, reliability, or product value.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows, development processes, and engineering practices.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure effective communication across the team in English.
  • Mentor and support new and existing team members, sharing knowledge and acting as a positive technical role model.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, open, and feedback-driven culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
  • 7+ years of professional experience designing, building, and operating production-grade web services.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, complexity, concurrency, and related concepts.
  • Significant experience with distributed systems and a strong understanding of the technical challenges associated with distributed computing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, with hands-on experience using server frameworks such as Express or NestJS.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of API versioning, authentication, rate limiting, pagination, and other API design principles.
  • Proven expertise in scalable architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven systems, and CQRS.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
  • Solid SQL skills, including schema design, indexing, migrations, and performance tuning with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and the capacity to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • A growth mindset with a willingness to receive feedback and a strong commitment to continuous learning, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating services on AWS, including Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, SQS, or CloudWatch, is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience developing Python-based backend services is an advantage.
  • Experience contributing to end-to-end technical projects, including architecture decisions, engineering standards, and knowledge sharing, is desirable.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB is an advantage.
  • Fully remote working model, with the opportunity to work from Europe.
  • Flexible working conditions designed to support a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to contribute to innovative technology within the rapidly evolving electric mobility sector.
  • Exposure to challenging backend, AI, distributed systems, cloud, and software architecture projects.
  • Opportunity to influence technical architecture, engineering standards, and development practices.
  • Continuous learning and professional development through hands-on work with modern technologies.
  • Collaboration with an international, diverse, and highly collaborative team.
  • Opportunities to mentor colleagues and strengthen technical leadership capabilities.
  • Full-time employment within a flexible, remote-first environment.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package, subject to the employment arrangement and location.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
