The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer based in Brazil.

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions for corporate payments platforms. In this role, you will build customized applications, robust APIs, and seamless integrations that help financial services partners enhance their products and customer experiences. You will contribute to architectural decisions, drive engineering best practices, and accelerate delivery through efficient development and deployment processes. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will translate complex business requirements into reliable, production-ready solutions. You will also take ownership of initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and testing to deployment and monitoring. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, mentoring teammates, and contributing to a collaborative, innovation-driven engineering environment.

Accountabilities

  • Software Development and Delivery: Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions that support corporate payments applications, partner integrations, and customer-facing experiences.
  • Partner-Specific Solutions: Build and enhance customized applications based on jointly defined product roadmaps, helping partners expand their business capabilities and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Architecture and Technical Strategy: Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders to define and implement a comprehensive architectural roadmap aligned with business objectives, industry standards, and platform requirements.
  • API Development and Integrations: Develop, maintain, and optimize APIs, internal and external web services, and system integrations to enable reliable communication between applications and partner platforms.
  • Cloud Engineering: Build, deploy, and maintain cloud-native applications and services using platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure, prioritizing scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Implement comprehensive automated testing strategies, including unit, component, and integration tests, to ensure software reliability and production readiness.
  • End-to-End Technical Ownership: Take responsibility for engineering initiatives from requirements gathering and solution design through implementation, deployment, troubleshooting, and production monitoring.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal teams and external partners to understand business needs, demonstrate solutions, explain technical decisions, and communicate the value of engineering outcomes.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline development workflows, reduce time to market, improve system performance, and continuously enhance engineering practices.
  • Security and Compliance: Apply secure development principles and ensure software solutions meet relevant data protection, security, and compliance requirements, particularly in financial services environments.
  • Technical Leadership: Participate actively in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decisions while sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and promoting engineering excellence.
  • Production Support and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues affecting existing implementations, helping partners maintain reliable payment and card-related services.
  • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record of designing and delivering reliable software solutions.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or comparable SQL-based systems.
  • Strong experience developing and rapidly deploying internal and external services using cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated expertise in automated testing, including unit, component, and integration testing, with a thorough understanding of the testing pyramid and software quality principles.
  • Solid understanding of data security, cloud security, and compliance requirements, preferably within financial services or other regulated environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs, web services, and integrations between internal systems and external platforms.
  • Strong technical leadership, team-building, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex initiatives, and contribute effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
  • Experience developing financial technology solutions, including credit card products, accounts payable and receivable systems, payment processing, or corporate payments platforms.
  • Familiarity with C#/.NET Core, Golang, or modern front-end frameworks such as React and Angular in cloud-native environments.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and collaborating across different functions or time zones.
  • Practical knowledge of modern software architecture, cloud-native development, API design, and scalable system integration.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in adopting modern engineering practices and improving development efficiency.
  • Base salary range: USD $121,500–$145,500 annually, as stated in the original job description. Compensation for this opportunity should be confirmed for candidates based in Brazil, as the published range may reflect a different employment location.
  • Performance-based compensation: Quarterly or annual bonus eligibility for non-sales roles, subject to the applicable compensation plan.
  • Health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, as described in the original benefits package; availability and terms for Brazil-based employees should be confirmed.
  • Retirement and financial benefits: Retirement savings plans, health savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts, subject to eligibility and location.
  • Insurance protection: Life insurance and disability coverage, subject to the applicable benefits plan.
  • Paid time off: Paid leave to support personal well-being and work-life balance.
  • Professional development: Tuition reimbursement and opportunities to strengthen technical expertise.
  • Remote work: The original posting identifies the role as remote, although its stated location requirement is limited to candidates residing within 30 miles of Dallas, Texas, or Portland, Maine. Eligibility to work remotely from Brazil must therefore be confirmed before applying.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
