The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Exposure Management based in United States.

This senior engineering role focuses on building and operating the services behind an external attack-surface and Exposure Management platform. You will help discover internet-facing assets, identify vulnerabilities, and transform complex security data into accurate, prioritized findings for clients. The role combines hands-on software engineering with technical design ownership across scanning, asset discovery, data processing, and vulnerability prioritization. You will work with large volumes of security data and build reliable systems designed for multi-tenant environments. AI-assisted engineering is central to the role, with opportunities to apply AI patterns to software identification and vulnerability prioritization. You will collaborate closely with product, threat research, and client-facing teams to turn security requirements into impactful production features. This is an opportunity to shape a next-generation cybersecurity platform while mentoring teammates and contributing to a highly curious, collaborative engineering culture.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, build, deploy, and operate the services that power the Exposure Management product, taking ownership across the full production lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the technical design and implementation of new scanning, asset discovery, and external attack-surface capabilities.
  • Build systems that reliably discover and process internet-facing assets and security data at scale.
  • Ensure that security and exposure data presented to clients remains accurate, current, reliable, and actionable.
  • Improve software identification and vulnerability prioritization through the use of AI-driven patterns and engineering approaches.
  • Develop scalable systems capable of processing large volumes of data reliably in production environments.
  • Contribute to product engineering within multi-tenant environments, considering reliability, scalability, data quality, and client isolation.
  • Collaborate with Product, Threat Research, and client-facing teams to translate cybersecurity needs into well-designed and production-ready features.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing service operations.
  • Identify potential technical and product issues proactively, communicate risks early, and drive problems through to resolution.
  • Mentor teammates and provide thoughtful technical feedback that supports engineering quality and professional growth.
  • Continuously evaluate new tools, technologies, and approaches that can improve engineering productivity and the effectiveness of the Exposure Management platform.
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production systems from initial design through ongoing operation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and TypeScript.
  • Experience building and operating software on AWS and Azure.
  • Strong understanding of production software engineering principles, including system design, reliability, testing, deployment, and operational ownership.
  • Experience building systems capable of reliably processing large volumes of data.
  • Experience developing software in multi-tenant environments.
  • Understanding of internet-facing attack surfaces, including domains, DNS, IP addresses, certificates, ports, and network services.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability data and standards such as CVE and CVSS.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems, raise concerns early, and follow issues through to resolution.
  • AI-first approach to engineering, with practical experience using AI tools regularly for activities such as software design, development, testing, and code review.
  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability for the quality and reliability of production systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, technical domains, and codebases while asking effective questions when needed.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to design documents and code reviews.
  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to mentor teammates through constructive guidance and feedback.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for continuously learning and applying new technologies to complex cybersecurity challenges.
  • Competitive salary and bonus opportunity.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Generous leave policies, including 3 months of paid parental leave.
  • 100% of employee-only healthcare, dental, and vision insurance premiums covered.
  • Up to 5% matched 401(k) contribution.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and ongoing professional training.
  • Opportunities to participate in industry conferences and events.
  • Opportunity to work on advanced cybersecurity and Exposure Management technology.
  • Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted security engineering and large-scale security data systems.
  • Collaborative environment with cross-functional exposure to product, threat research, and client teams.
  • Opportunity to mentor colleagues and influence technical direction.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
