The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack based in the United States.

The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and optimize high-performance web applications that make financial services more accessible and user-friendly. This role combines deep frontend expertise with full-stack capabilities, contributing to scalable products that simplify lending and debt management. You will build and enhance modern web experiences using React and Next.js while collaborating with backend engineers to deliver cohesive end-to-end features. Working closely with Product Managers, Designers, and engineering colleagues, you will lead projects from technical planning through implementation and release. You will also drive experimentation, improve platform observability, and help maintain the reliability and performance of production systems. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a modern technology stack within a remote-first, startup-oriented environment that values ownership, innovation, and teamwork. You will have room to influence technical decisions, improve engineering practices, and deliver meaningful product outcomes while continuing to grow professionally.

Accountabilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using React and Next.js, delivering new features and improving existing functionality, performance, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers working with PHP and Clojure to design and implement integrated end-to-end features across frontend components and backend services.
  • Lead technical projects of varying complexity, taking ownership from initial planning and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and delivery.
  • Partner with Product Managers and fellow engineers to define project scope, establish priorities, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
  • Write clear, maintainable technical design documents and create and manage Jira tasks to support project visibility, accountability, and execution.
  • Design, implement, and monitor A/B tests using feature flags to evaluate user behavior, measure business impact, and inform product improvements.
  • Build and maintain observability capabilities, including logs, alerts, monitors, dashboards, and metrics, to identify issues and improve system performance.
  • Support production stability by investigating bugs, troubleshooting incidents, resolving technical issues, and maintaining a reliable user experience.
  • Optimize React applications through profiling, performance analysis, and improvements to rendering, responsiveness, and overall application efficiency.
  • Contribute to modern development and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines and reliable release processes.
  • Collaborate actively across frontend, backend, product, and design teams in a remote-first environment, communicating progress, technical decisions, and potential challenges.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows, technical architecture, and development standards while taking ownership of outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
  • More than 5 years of hands-on experience building applications with React.
  • More than 2 years of experience in a true full-stack or backend-intensive engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in profiling, diagnosing, and optimizing React applications for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, reusable component libraries, accessibility considerations, and responsive web design.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, modern deployment strategies, and software delivery best practices.
  • Familiarity with observability practices, including logging, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Designers, and frontend and backend engineers to deliver cohesive product features.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate requirements into maintainable, reliable software.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of projects, manage priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and commitment to individual and team success.
  • A growth-oriented approach, with enthusiasm for learning new technologies, tackling complex challenges, and continuously improving engineering practices.
  • Experience leading teams or overseeing significant technical projects is an advantage.
  • Advanced knowledge of Next.js, including server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), API routes, and dynamic routing, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern technology stacks and architectures is beneficial, including ClojureScript, Clojure, PostgreSQL, service-oriented and event-driven systems, AWS, Kubernetes, serverless infrastructure, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Annual base salary ranging from $140,000 to $200,000 USD, depending on location, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
  • Potential eligibility for additional performance-based bonuses tied to individual and company performance.
  • Remote-first work environment.
  • Flexible paid time off (PTO) and nine company holidays.
  • Equity opportunities to participate in the company's growth.
  • Comprehensive and affordable health insurance benefits.
  • Paid parental leave for all caregivers.
  • Modern equipment and tools to support effective remote work.
  • Fully paid Claude subscription to support productivity and development workflows.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Quarterly team meetups, including in-person and virtual gatherings.
  • Company merchandise and team engagement activities.
  • A collaborative workplace that encourages accountability, innovation, open communication, and mutual support.
  • Opportunities to work with modern technologies and contribute to meaningful financial technology products.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
