The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Golang/TypeScript/React) based in United Kingdom.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help build and evolve a data-intensive platform used by major organisations to make informed business decisions. You will own features end-to-end, from initial concept and architecture through development, testing, and production. The role combines backend engineering in Go with modern frontend development using React and TypeScript. You will contribute to highly scalable systems that collect, process, validate, and serve large volumes of financial data. Beyond feature delivery, you will influence technical strategy, engineering standards, observability, and development practices. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team where technical ownership, continuous learning, and meaningful impact are highly valued.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance Golang microservices and React/TypeScript frontend applications.
  • Take full ownership of features from ideation and technical design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
  • Build performant, accessible, and polished customer-facing interfaces using React, TypeScript, and established design systems.
  • Develop reliable backend services and web application backends using Go and deploy applications through Docker-based environments.
  • Make architectural and technical decisions while balancing existing systems, new technologies, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Improve application and service performance, reliability, monitoring, and observability.
  • Establish and maintain high engineering standards through clean-code practices, code reviews, documentation, and consistent development patterns.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders across the organisation to understand business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Contribute to automation, process improvements, and new technologies that improve the efficiency and quality of engineering teams and business operations.
  • Work with large-scale financial datasets and contribute to systems that collect, process, validate, and serve data to users.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to the continuous reliability and improvement of production systems.
  • Share technical knowledge, communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
  • Support and contribute to CI/CD, infrastructure, and observability initiatives where appropriate.
  • Strong professional experience designing, developing, testing, and operating production-grade software systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Golang, including experience building backend services and working with concurrent or distributed systems.
  • Strong frontend development experience with React and TypeScript, including the ability to build reusable, component-based applications.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases such as MariaDB or comparable technologies.
  • Solid understanding of clean-code principles, software design practices, and idiomatic Go and TypeScript development.
  • Experience with Docker and containerised application deployment.
  • Ability to design and maintain performant, scalable, and reliable software systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and work effectively within complex technical and business domains.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to take ownership of features and deliver solutions from concept through production.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, understand unfamiliar business domains, and continuously develop technical skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI, is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with observability technologies such as Prometheus and Grafana is desirable.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve engineering productivity or productionising AI solutions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Material UI, Airflow, Python, or Terraform is beneficial.
  • Experience working with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure is an advantage.
  • Fully remote working arrangement from Multiple locations.
  • Flexible remote working environment with collaboration across international teams.
  • Monthly compensation of USD 5,000–6,500, based on the stated contractor arrangement and experience.
  • Opportunity to work as an independent contractor on a Business-to-Consultant basis.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a data-driven platform used by major global organisations and financial institutions.
  • Exposure to modern technologies including Go, TypeScript, React, AWS, Docker, SQL, CI/CD, and observability tooling.
  • Opportunity to influence technical direction, architecture, engineering standards, and development practices.
  • Collaborative environment with a multidisciplinary technology team and opportunities for knowledge sharing.
  • Meaningful technical ownership, with responsibility for features from conception through production.
  • Opportunities to develop skills in large-scale financial data, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled engineering.
  • Please note that the contractor arrangement does not include paid time off or sick pay.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
