Overview

Join a globally recognized home appliance organization committed to delivering innovative products and exceptional customer experiences. As a Service Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain premium household appliances and outdoor products at customer homes, construction sites, showrooms, and warehouses. You will play a key role in resolving technical issues efficiently, improving first-time repair completion rates, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Working across field service and workshop environments, you will handle warranty and non-warranty repairs while supporting product modifications and quality improvements. The role begins with hands-on training, workshop experience, and field ride-alongs to help you develop comprehensive product and service knowledge. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and delivering reliable solutions directly to customers.

Accountabilities

  • Field Service and Repairs: Perform service calls, diagnose faults, and repair major home appliances and outdoor products at customer residences, construction sites, dealer showrooms, warehouses, and other designated locations.
  • Customer Experience: Deliver professional, customer-focused service by explaining technical issues, evaluating repair options, providing accurate cost estimates, and resolving concerns efficiently.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate complex or escalated service issues, address deficiencies identified in builder projects, and apply strong diagnostic skills to determine appropriate repair procedures.
  • Workshop and Warehouse Support: Assist with product returns, perform workshop repairs, and complete necessary rework, modifications, and corrective actions before products are resold.
  • Service Documentation: Maintain accurate field service work orders, recording repair details, parts used, service status, and other relevant information through designated computer systems or tablets.
  • Parts and Inventory Management: Maintain vehicle stock of spare parts, conduct regular inventory counts, research and order replacement components, and ensure essential parts are available to support first-time repair completion.
  • Payment Processing: Collect and process customer payments for services using the designated point-of-sale system, following established procedures.
  • Safety and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain clean, organized, and safe working environments, while protecting and properly maintaining company-issued tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Performance and Continuous Improvement: Meet established service and productivity targets, communicate openly with management, and contribute ideas that improve service quality, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Training and Development: Participate in initial workshop training, field ride-alongs, and ongoing learning to build technical expertise and understand service operations.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school certification or relevant post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Technical Experience: Previous experience diagnosing and repairing major household appliances, with a practical understanding of repair procedures and common product faults.
  • Gas Certification: Valid provincial gas certification applicable to appliance servicing is required.
  • Refrigeration Expertise: Experience with refrigeration systems and sealed-system repairs is highly desirable. A valid ODP certification is required for work involving refrigerant sealed systems.
  • Tools and Equipment: Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and other tools necessary to perform appliance repairs safely and effectively.
  • Driver Qualifications: Valid driver's license and a driver's abstract are required, as the role involves travel to customer locations and service sites.
  • Diagnostic and Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, sound judgment, and a methodical approach to identifying faults and determining effective repair solutions.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening, empathy, and the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
  • Digital and Administrative Skills: Basic computer or tablet proficiency and the ability to learn service management systems, update work orders, manage inventory, and process payments accurately.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to meet the physical demands of field service, including lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, and crouching or squatting for extended periods.
  • Professionalism and Accountability: A customer-first mindset, a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with colleagues and management.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new products, participate in training, manage varied service assignments, and consistently meet performance expectations.
  • Competitive Compensation: Base hourly pay ranging from CAD $25.00 to $30.00, depending on qualifications, experience, relevant skills, and other compensation considerations.
  • Full-Time Employment: A full-time position based in British Columbia, Canada.
  • Hands-On Training: Initial workshop training, field ride-alongs, and guidance from experienced service professionals and regional management.
  • Technical Development: Opportunities to expand appliance repair expertise, develop refrigeration and diagnostic skills, and gain experience across field service and workshop operations.
  • Varied Work Environment: A combination of customer-facing field assignments, workshop repairs, and warehouse support.
  • Meaningful Customer Impact: Help customers restore essential appliances, resolve technical problems, and enjoy a dependable product experience.
  • Inclusive Workplace: Equal employment opportunities and a commitment to a respectful, professional, and inclusive working environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
