The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solutions Architect based in France.

As a Solutions Architect, you will shape the technical direction of client projects and internal products while combining deep engineering expertise with strong business judgment. You will design scalable, cloud-native architectures and help determine the right technologies, priorities, and delivery strategies. The role is highly hands-on, with opportunities to prototype, review code, and solve complex technical challenges. You will also contribute to product roadmaps, pre-sales discussions, project scoping, and strategic technology decisions. Working closely with clients, executives, tech leads, and senior engineers, you will translate business objectives into practical technical solutions. This is a fully remote role suited to an experienced technical leader who is comfortable operating across engineering, product, and business environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Share ownership of technical strategy, architectural standards, engineering priorities, and technology direction.
  • Own technical and product roadmaps for internal products, prioritizing initiatives according to user needs and business value.
  • Bring a product-focused approach to client projects by challenging requirements, identifying better solutions, and prioritizing work that delivers meaningful business outcomes.
  • Design solution architectures for new client projects and internal products from discovery through delivery.
  • Participate in sales and pre-sales discussions, helping scope projects, estimate effort, and translate business goals into actionable technical plans.
  • Review and challenge architectural decisions across engineering teams and provide hands-on support for critical or high-risk technical problems.
  • Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, technology choices, and AI adoption based on cost, risk, scalability, and expected return on investment.
  • Represent engineering in discussions with executive leaders and client stakeholders, including C-level audiences.
  • Mentor tech leads and senior engineers while raising standards for code quality, security, architecture, and delivery practices.
  • Contribute directly to engineering work through code reviews, prototypes, technical investigations, and hands-on problem solving.
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in an architect, principal engineer, or technical leadership position.
  • Current hands-on coding ability, with confidence reviewing pull requests, prototyping solutions, and contributing to complex technical work.
  • Experience with AI-powered engineering and AI adoption within the software development lifecycle, including knowledge of modern AI and agent capabilities.
  • Proven experience designing distributed, cloud-native, scalable systems.
  • Demonstrated product ownership experience, taking products or major features from problem definition through launch and subsequent iteration using user feedback and performance metrics.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, React, and Next.js.
  • Strong knowledge of Python for scripting, data processing, backend services, or related applications.
  • Proven experience working directly with clients or executives on project scope, budgets, technical trade-offs, and delivery expectations.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to clearly explain how technical decisions influence cost, timelines, risk, and revenue.
  • Experience estimating and scoping software projects.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Availability to work within the PST time zone.
  • Previous experience working effectively within remote, distributed teams.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Fully remote work environment with the flexibility to work from a location and schedule that suit you.
  • Flexible working hours, provided you maintain a stable internet connection and meet role expectations.
  • Opportunity to work with modern technologies and contribute to challenging, innovative software projects.
  • Paid training and professional development opportunities.
  • Consistent access to engaging and technically challenging work.
  • Annual pay increases based on strong performance.
  • Hourly compensation with a starting rate negotiated according to skills and experience.
  • Monthly contractor payments via wire transfer.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with an international, distributed team of software professionals.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
