The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Risk & Control Analyst based in United States.

This role supports a critical risk and controls program within a fast-moving Banking-as-a-Service and fintech environment. You will help oversee partner audits, assess risks, coordinate audit activities, and monitor remediation across a diverse partner ecosystem. The position combines regulatory knowledge, audit expertise, analytical thinking, and strong stakeholder management. You will work closely with internal subject matter experts, fintech partners, internal audit teams, and external audit firms. Your work will help ensure audit scopes address material risks and that findings are appropriately resolved within established timelines. The role offers meaningful exposure to BaaS operations, financial services regulation, technology risk, and partner oversight. Success requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex risks clearly in a collaborative remote environment.

Accountabilities

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of risk and controls processes supporting a Banking-as-a-Service partner oversight program.
  • Create and maintain partner audit risk assessments, focusing on key risks associated with partners and the services they provide.
  • Facilitate partner audits with external audit firms, fintech partners, and internal audit teams as needed.
  • Coordinate audit schedules and engagements to help ensure timely planning, execution, and completion.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to ensure partner audits appropriately address key program and operational risks.
  • Assist in evaluating and updating audit scopes covering areas such as Bank Secrecy Act requirements, general compliance, IT general controls, information security, deposit and lending compliance, and operational risks.
  • Review partner engagement letters and audit reports to confirm that required scopes were addressed and adequately tested.
  • Evaluate audit findings and remediation plans to determine whether significant risks are being addressed appropriately and within expected timelines.
  • Analyze audit and risk trends across the partner portfolio to identify control improvements and opportunities to strengthen the broader program.
  • Coordinate oversight audits and maintain tracking of findings, corrective actions, and remediation activities through completion.
  • Support training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen the team's risk, audit, and controls capabilities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable banking regulations and compliance requirements, including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, Regulation E, Truth in Savings, UDAAP, Truth in Lending, and ECOA.
  • Ensure assigned activities remain aligned with applicable regulatory, compliance, and internal control requirements.
  • Provide recommendations to risk and controls leadership regarding audit scope, emerging risks, findings, remediation, and program improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience, with 5+ years of experience in bank internal audit, IT risk and controls, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fintech and Banking-as-a-Service environments, supported by a solid technical background.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance principles and familiarity with FFIEC requirements is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to review audit programs, workpapers, reports, findings, and remediation plans and assess their adequacy.
  • Ability to identify and articulate risks and issues concisely, clearly explain their potential impact, and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations, including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, Regulation E, UDAAP, Truth in Lending, ECOA, and related requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present information and respond to questions from management, employees, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, manage deadlines, and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing audit documentation and risk information.
  • Professional, cooperative, and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving ability, particularly when evaluating risks, audit coverage, and remediation activities.
  • Salary budgeted at approximately $82,678–$90,000, with the broader posted range of $82,678–$96,457.
  • Fully remote work environment.
  • Full-time employment with bonus eligibility.
  • Three medical plan options, including eligible plans with HSA availability and employer contributions.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses.
  • Dental and vision insurance.
  • Company-paid basic life insurance, with additional coverage options for employees and dependents.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Supplemental benefits, including hospital indemnity, accident insurance, and critical illness coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
  • Generous paid vacation and sick leave.
  • 11 paid holidays annually.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
