The posting
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager - Stord Labs based in United States.
This is a high-impact technical program leadership role at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, engineering, fulfillment operations, and business strategy. You will own the operational backbone of an innovation program, taking emerging technologies from early hypotheses through testing, validation, and production deployment. You’ll work in a hands-on environment where physical experimentation and technical rigor are essential to success. The role involves coordinating internal teams, technology vendors, AI organizations, academic partners, and senior leadership. You’ll establish frameworks that help teams make evidence-based decisions about which innovations to advance, refine, or stop. Your work will directly influence how next-generation fulfillment technologies scale across a broader operational network. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically fluent program leader who thrives in ambiguous, zero-to-one environments.
Accountabilities
- Own the end-to-end experimentation lifecycle, establishing hypotheses, success criteria, measurement frameworks, and decision points for advancing, iterating, or discontinuing initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Operations, warehouse teams, vendors, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment between laboratory experimentation and production environments.
- Lead decision-making and governance between operational and product leadership when determining whether validated technologies are ready for live pilots.
- Manage the innovation testing roadmap across multiple workstreams, balancing resources and evaluations across hardware vendors, software initiatives, agentic AI, robotics, and other emerging technologies.
- Coordinate partnerships with technology providers, frontier AI organizations, and academic institutions to evaluate and deploy AI-driven logistics solutions.
- Oversee integration testing involving third-party automation, internal systems, human operators, and warehouse and order management platforms.
- Support pilot deployments and establish closed-loop feedback mechanisms between laboratory testing and production facilities.
- Develop scaling playbooks, documentation, operating procedures, and rollout plans for validated fulfillment workflows and technologies.
- Partner with marketing teams to coordinate customer and strategic-partner demonstrations showcasing emerging technologies and operational capabilities.
- Coordinate co-funded pilot programs designed to evaluate customer-specific challenges before progressing solutions into production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or another relevant technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Management, or complex project management, including experience integrating hardware and software systems.
- Strong expertise in supply chain technology, warehouse automation, robotics integration, fulfillment operations, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex RFPs, vendor evaluation processes, strategic technical partnerships, and external technology providers.
- Strong understanding of agile development, sprint planning, program governance, and cross-functional dependency management across hardware, software, and operational teams.
- Experience operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where new processes, technologies, and solutions must be developed from the ground up.
- Strong technical fluency and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, operators, vendors, executives, and other stakeholders.
- Proven ability to establish structure, drive accountability, manage competing priorities, and move complex initiatives from concept through execution.
- Experience within an R&D lab, innovation center, advanced manufacturing environment, or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with data science lifecycles, digital twins, predictive modeling, AI-driven forecasting, or related advanced data systems is a plus.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25–35% to support suppliers, laboratory activities, pilot deployments, and production rollouts.
- Remote position based in the United States.
- Opportunity to work directly with emerging technologies spanning AI, robotics, automation, and next-generation fulfillment.
- High-visibility role with significant influence over innovation strategy and technology deployment.
- Exposure to technology vendors, AI organizations, academic institutions, customers, and executive leadership.
- Opportunity to help develop and scale solutions from experimental laboratory environments into operational production networks.
- Travel opportunities supporting suppliers, pilot sites, laboratory initiatives, and production deployments.
- Inclusive, equal-opportunity work environment that values diversity.
- U.S. employment authorization verification through the E-Verify process.
