The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Talent Network (Engineering roles) based in Netherlands.

This opportunity connects experienced blockchain engineers with high-impact infrastructure projects across the decentralized web. You will join a curated network of technical specialists working on challenging problems in blockchain infrastructure, security, privacy, scalability, and distributed systems. Projects may involve leading protocols and emerging technologies across multiple blockchain ecosystems. Each engagement is supported by a core engineering lead, giving you technical collaboration without the administrative burden of managing client relationships. You will have the flexibility to select projects that match your expertise, availability, and interests. The environment is remote, self-directed, and focused on delivering high-quality engineering rather than sales or administrative work.

Accountabilities:

  • Contribute as a freelance engineering specialist to blockchain infrastructure and protocol projects aligned with your technical expertise.
  • Design, develop, test, maintain, and improve production-grade blockchain infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges related to security, privacy, scalability, cryptography, consensus, protocols, and decentralized infrastructure.
  • Work collaboratively with core engineering teams and other specialists to deliver project objectives and technical milestones.
  • Take ownership of assigned technical work and independently manage implementation, problem-solving, testing, and delivery.
  • Contribute to architecture and technical decision-making based on project requirements and engineering best practices.
  • Produce clean, reliable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities with other experienced engineers.
  • Contribute to open-source projects or other technical initiatives where relevant to project objectives.
  • Communicate technical progress, challenges, and recommendations clearly in English.
  • Adapt to different technology stacks, development methodologies, and project requirements depending on the engagement.
  • Work effectively within self-organizing teams while maintaining reliability, transparency, and accountability throughout the project.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated engineering lead who coordinates project structure, client requirements, and delivery expectations.
  • Strong professional engineering experience with one or more relevant technologies, including Rust, Go, TypeScript, Solidity, Move, Cairo, Scala, or Canton/DAML.
  • Hands-on professional experience working with blockchain infrastructure, protocols, decentralized applications, or related distributed systems.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals, including software architecture, algorithms, data structures, concurrency, testing, debugging, and system design.
  • Experience with cryptography and/or zero-knowledge proofs is highly valuable.
  • Professional experience with blockchain ecosystems such as Polkadot/Substrate, Ethereum, Cosmos, Solana, StarkNet, or zkSync is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping production projects, significant technical initiatives, or meaningful open-source contributions.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical challenges, and reliably deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with experienced engineers across distributed and remote teams.
  • Curiosity and adaptability, with the ability to quickly understand new technologies, protocols, codebases, and project requirements.
  • Availability for full-time project engagements, typically around 35–40 hours per week for the duration of an assignment.
  • Ability to work remotely with reasonable timezone overlap with European working hours.
  • Ability to invoice as a freelancer or through your own company.
  • Willingness to work under project-based compensation arrangements negotiated according to the scope and requirements of each engagement.
  • Access to high-quality blockchain infrastructure projects involving leading protocols and emerging technologies.
  • Opportunity to work on technically challenging problems in security, privacy, scalability, cryptography, and distributed systems.
  • Support from an experienced engineering lead on every project.
  • No requirement to pitch for projects, manage sales, or handle client relationships.
  • Reduced administrative overhead, allowing you to focus primarily on engineering and delivery.
  • Flexibility to accept projects that align with your availability, skills, and interests.
  • Ability to decline projects when you are unavailable or the opportunity is not the right fit.
  • Access to a private community of vetted blockchain engineers, including project updates and industry insights.
  • Remote-first working environment with reasonable European timezone overlap.
  • Opportunities to expand your experience across different blockchain ecosystems, protocols, and technical stacks.
  • Project-based compensation negotiated according to the engagement and scope.
  • Potential for recurring opportunities through an established engineering talent network.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
