- Material Verification: Validate that all incoming materials, timber certifications (e.g., FSC/PEFC), and ironmongery match the approved material submittals and schedules.
- Handover & Certification: Sign off on installations, compile technical data books, and issue certificates of conformity required by local building authorities.
Deficiency & Dispute Management
- Defect Resolution: Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for deficient workmanship or damaged materials, tracking corrective actions to closure.
- Snagging Coordination: Conduct thorough pre-handover snagging lists and coordinate with site foremen to rectify issues before client inspections
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of QA/QC experience in building construction, with a strong focus on fit-out, joinery, or specialized door installation subcontracts.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fire door regulations, acoustic sealing, structural hardware applications, and master keying systems.
- Certifications: Specialized fire door inspector certification (e.g., FDIS, BRE Academy, or equivalent regional certification) is highly preferred.
- Site Skills: Proficiency in reading architectural blueprints, hardware schedules, and using digital site-management software (e.g., BIM 360, Procore, Fieldwire).
