Job Description

Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.

1 Client Management

  • Set the team up to be able to effectively propose value-added solutions for handling and respond to client queries
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all general cargo consignee matters
  • Develop direct relationships and bridge between consignees and JP to drive key strategic goals
  • Establish representation in industry through engagement on critical matters, new policies and gather feedback on port-wide changes
  • Be kept abreast with latest developments in the various industries and provide analysis and updates where required
  • Business unit lead for key infrastructural projects to ensure the smooth planning and execution throughout the entire project lifecycle

2 Internal Collaboration

  • Ensure requirements are effectively communicated with operations for execution on ground
  • Cross-department collaboration with internal departments to represent the business considerations across all areas like yard, planning, transformation, technical services, etc
  • Collaborating with finance on account management matters, aging AR matters and budget analysis of financial data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement
  • Work closely to represent commercial agreements, contracts, billing and payment department to the customers so that commercial operations can run smoothly in compliance with SOPs

Job Specifications (e.g. Qualifications, Work Experience, Age & Other Skills, etc):

  • Bachelor Degree in a similar / related discipline
  • Construction and / or related background is preferred
  • Pro-active team player with a visible sense of urgency, excellent communication skills and ability to work in a very dynamic environment
  • Thrives in fast-paced environment with many priorities simultaneously
  • Positive mind-set focusing on daily execution, standardization, and continuous improvement
  • Passionate about driving change across internal and external stakeholders with desire and ambition to grow in the company
  • He/She is able to analyze & develop insights from information and able to grasp big picture concepts
