About the Role

As the Head Chef, you will be the driving force behind our kitchen operations, leading a talented team to deliver exceptional dishes that delight our guests. Youll have the creative freedom to craft menus that celebrate local ingredients and showcase your culinary artistry.

Nestled in the heart of Stackpole, this gastro pub is celebrated for its warm hospitality, cozy atmosphere, and commitment to quality. Surrounded by stunning coastal landscapes, it attracts both locals and visitors looking for a memorable dining experience. The pub offers a carefully curated menu that reflects the best of Welsh produce, with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients. As Head Chef, you will play a key role in upholding and enhancing this reputation.

Working Hours

  • 48 hours per week
  • 5 days on, 2 days off

Key Duties

  • Menu Creation: Design and implement innovative, seasonal menus that reflect the pubs ethos and culinary standards.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire the kitchen team, ensuring a cohesive and productive work environment.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards in food preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency across all dishes.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement of ingredients, managing supplier relationships, and controlling kitchen costs.
  • Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are met within the kitchen.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, ideally within a gastro pub or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage inventory and budgets effectively.
