Summary:

The Senior Director, Program Performance, Northeast Purchasing Coalition (NPC) will be accountable for the performance, execution, and member experience of NPC programs and initiatives. NPC is a member-owned organization that leverages aggregated purchasing volume, strategic partnerships, and coordinated initiatives to generate savings, innovation, and measurable value for its members. The Senior Director will lead the performance-management structures, processes, and relationships necessary to translate NPC strategy into effective execution across the network. This member-facing role will serve as a primary point of contact for NPC members and will engage leaders and stakeholders across provider organizations, including supply chain, finance, clinical operations, value analysis, physician departments and other functional areas, to advance implementation, adoption, and value realization. The Senior Director will coordinate closely with NPC sourcing, analytics, implementation, clinical, and Vizient teams to ensure initiatives are effectively prioritized, communicated, implemented, measured, and sustained.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead NPC’s program-performance framework, including performance goals, operating plans, milestones, owners, measures, reporting, and escalation pathways.
  • Establish and oversee the processes, routines, and governance structures required to monitor and improve the performance of NPC programs and initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and manage NPC operational committees, subcommittees, workgroups, and other forums that support member engagement, accountability, decision-making, and execution.
  • Serve as a primary member-facing leader and trusted advisor to NPC members and stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with executive, operational, supply chain, finance, clinical, physician, and value analysis leaders to understand member priorities and advance NPC initiatives.
  • Lead member engagement and performance-accountability processes, including scorecards, implementation reviews, action plans, and routine progress updates.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end execution of NPC initiatives, including opportunity prioritization, member alignment, contracting or enrollment requirements, implementation planning, product conversions, utilization initiatives, and value realization.
  • Work with NPC performance managers and member stakeholders to establish effective local governance and accountability structures that facilitate timely adoption and sustained results.
  • Translate member needs, performance gaps, and operational barriers into actionable recommendations for NPC leadership and internal delivery teams.
  • Monitor program performance, identify risks and dependencies, resolve barriers, and escalate issues requiring leadership attention.
  • Develop and maintain standardized performance-management tools, communication approaches, implementation resources, and reporting mechanisms that improve consistency across the NPC member experience.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, analytics, clinical, and Vizient teams to align strategy, delivery, member communications, and performance expectations.
  • Support the effective use of NPC and Vizient tools, analytics, technologies, and partnerships to advance member value and program performance.
  • Facilitate cross-member collaboration and the sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and implementation strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve NPC programs, offerings, capabilities, service delivery, and member engagement.
  • Support new-member onboarding, including performance expectations, operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, implementation planning, and integration into NPC governance and reporting processes.
  • Support member recruitment, business development, renewal, and marketing activities by articulating NPC’s program model, capabilities, and value proposition.
  • Develop dashboards, performance reports, updates, and recommendations for NPC leadership, committees, and the Board.
  • Foster strong and productive relationships with suppliers, Vizient teams, consultants, and other business partners as appropriate.
  • Coach and support NPC team members and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred. MBA/MPH/MHA desired.
  • Ten or more years of relevant experience in healthcare operations, program performance, supply chain, procurement, consulting, group purchasing, provider-organization administration, project management, or a related field required.
  • Seven or more years of experience working with healthcare providers, health systems, or other complex provider organizations preferred.
  • Experience leading program performance, implementation, transformation, operational delivery, or member-facing initiatives in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • GPO, healthcare supply chain, strategic sourcing, or purchased services experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence executive and operational stakeholders across multiple functions and organizations.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare provider operations, decision-making processes, value analysis, sourcing, contracting, implementation, performance improvement, and change management.
  • Proven ability to convert strategy into executable plans with clear milestones, owners, measures, and outcomes.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills; certified project management experience preferred.
  • Established record of meeting individual and team business goals and delivering measurable results.
  • Ability to identify performance risks, remove barriers, and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Ability to coach and support others through collaborative leadership and effective partnership.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
