With a focus on excellence in aircraft sustainment and repair, we deliver innovative solutions that ensure mission readiness. Join our team at JRB New Orleans, where we support critical aviation operations for military and reserve forces.

Job Summary: The Aviation Welder will perform precision welding, fabrication, and repair tasks on aircraft structures, components, and ground support equipment. This role requires expertise in TIG/MIG welding techniques for aluminum, steel, and titanium alloys commonly used in aviation applications. The welder will work in a fast-paced environment to maintain airworthiness and safety standards, collaborating with maintenance teams to execute scheduled and unscheduled repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality welds on aircraft fuselages, wings, landing gear, and engine mounts using TIG, MIG, and plasma arc welding processes.
  • Fabricate and modify metal parts and assemblies from blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct pre- and post-weld inspections, including visual and dimensional checks, to ensure compliance with FAA, military, and OEM standards.
  • Repair corrosion, cracks, and structural damage on aircraft components using heat treating and stress-relief techniques.
  • Operate welding equipment, grinders, and cutting tools safely while adhering to lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records of welding activities, material usage, and quality assurance documentation.
  • Support disassembly and reassembly of aircraft parts during major overhauls.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot welding-related issues and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or associate degree in welding technology preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a welder in an aviation or aerospace environment.
  • AWS Certified Welder (e.g., D1.1 Structural Welding Code) or equivalent certification; aviation-specific certifications (e.g., NAS 410) a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Knowledge of aircraft materials, heat-affected zones, and non-destructive testing integration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with military aircraft (e.g., F-18, C-130) or rotorcraft.
  • Familiarity with FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong safety mindset with OSHA 10-hour certification.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
