Summary: The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day human resources operations of a manufacturing organization with a primary focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR policy maintenance. This role partners closely with department managers to attract, hire, and retain talent while ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and manufacturing workforce requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions, including production, warehouse, quality, maintenance, and administrative roles. Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and staffing plans. Source candidates through job boards, staffing agencies, social media, employee referrals, and local workforce programs. Conduct phone screens, coordinate interviews, and facilitate candidate selection. Prepare and extend employment offers and manage pre-employment processes, including background checks and drug screenings. Track recruiting metrics and maintain applicant tracking system records.
Onboarding & Employee Integration
Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs. Ensure completion of all employment documentation and compliance requirements. Partner with department leaders to ensure successful employee integration and training. Maintain employee files and HRIS records with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Conduct new hire follow-up meetings and support employee retention initiatives.
Benefits Administration
Assist employees with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plan enrollment. Provide support as needed with annual open enrollment activities and employee communications. Work with benefits team when needed to resolve employee concerns.
Policy Administration & Compliance
Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures. Support compliance initiatives related to FMLA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, EEO, wage and hour regulations, and other employment-related requirements. Maintain required HR records and support internal and external audits.
Employee Relations
Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, workplace concerns, and employment practices. Assist managers with employee performance issues, corrective actions, and policy interpretation. Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives. Conduct exit interviews and identify trends affecting employee turnover.
HR Operations
Maintain employee data within the HRIS and personnel filing systems. Prepare reports related to headcount, turnover, recruiting, and HR metrics. Support payroll processing by ensuring employee data changes are communicated accurately and timely. Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or production environment. Experience with full-cycle recruiting and employee onboarding required. Experience administering employee benefits and maintaining HR policies. Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.

Ability to build effective relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
