ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

KHAITE is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Marketing Manager, Japan to lead and execute the brand’s marketing strategy and activities in the Japanese market. This role will be responsible for translating KHAITE’s global brand vision into locally relevant initiatives that drive brand awareness, client engagement, and retail performance.

The Senior Marketing Manager will work closely with KHAITE’s Japan retail and commercial teams, department store marketing divisions, local PR agencies, external partners, and KHAITE’s New York headquarters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Japanese luxury market, excellent relationship-building skills, strong project management capabilities, and a sophisticated understanding of luxury brand marketing and client engagement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Japan Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute localized marketing initiatives that align with KHAITE’s global brand strategy and objectives.
  • Manage the planning, execution, and measurement of marketing activities across Japan, ensuring consistency with KHAITE’s global brand identity.
  • Identify opportunities to increase KHAITE’s visibility and engagement within the Japanese luxury market.
  • Develop local marketing calendars and coordinate campaigns, activations, launches, and key brand moments.

Department Store & Local Partner Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with department store marketing divisions and key local partners.
  • Collaborate with department store teams on co-branded marketing initiatives, in-store campaigns, events, customer activations, and promotional opportunities.
  • Coordinate with department store partners to maximize visibility and engagement around key product launches and retail moments.
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, approvals, and reporting for department store marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all opportunities are vetted and approved with respective HQ partners.

Client & Retail Activations

  • Partner closely with the local Japan team to develop and execute client-focused activations that strengthen customer relationships and drive engagement aligning to Global Events & Experiences Guidelines.
  • Plan and manage local events, including VIC experiences, trunk shows, private appointments, store events, and other client-facing initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to create meaningful experiences for KHAITE’s existing and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with retail teams to ensure marketing initiatives support commercial and clienteling objectives.
  • Ensure all opportunities are vetted and approved with respective HQ partners.

LINE & Local Digital Marketing

  • Manage KHAITE’s Japan LINE presence, including channel launch, content planning best practices, scheduling, publishing, and ongoing optimization.
  • Identify opportunities for localized LINE content that reflects KHAITE’s global social strategy and brand voice while being relevant to the Japanese consumer.
  • Manage local digital and social content in close collaboration with HQ and external partners.
  • Monitor engagement and performance and identify opportunities to grow KHAITE’s digital presence in Japan.

Content & Localization

  • Coordinate translation, localization, and adaptation of global brand content into Japanese while maintaining KHAITE’s brand voice and visual standards.
  • Partner with HQ Marketing and Creative teams to ensure timely delivery of global assets and appropriate localization for Japan.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Japanese luxury consumer and ensure content is culturally relevant and locally appropriate.

PR & Agency Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact for KHAITE’s local PR agency partners.
  • Coordinate with agencies on PR, VIP dressing, influencer, media, event, and brand initiatives.
  • Provide clear briefs, timelines, and brand direction to external partners.
  • Monitor agency deliverables and ensure activities are aligned with KHAITE’s broader global marketing strategy.
  • Support the development of local media, influencer, and partnership opportunities.

HQ Collaboration

  • Act as the primary marketing liaison between KHAITE Japan and the New York HQ Marketing team.
  • Develop and project manage all briefing for local asset creation/adaptation and deployment.
  • Communicate Japan market needs, opportunities, cultural considerations, and local insights to HQ.
  • Coordinate global campaign launches and ensure relevant assets, messaging, and guidelines are effectively implemented in Japan.
  • Share local marketing plans, results, insights, and learnings with HQ stakeholders.
  • Balance global brand consistency with the specific needs and opportunities of the Japanese market.

Event & Project Management

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of local marketing events and activations aligning to Global Events & Experiences Guidelines.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, vendors, agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables are completed to a high standard and on schedule.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and provide recommendations for future opportunities to New York HQ Marketing team.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, communications, brand marketing, or a related field, preferably within luxury fashion, beauty, or premium consumer brands.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of the Japanese luxury market and consumer landscape.
  • Experience working with Japanese department stores and/or luxury retail partners strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing local agencies and external partners.
  • Experience developing and executing events, activations, and client-facing experiences.
  • Strong understanding of LINE and other relevant digital and social platforms in Japan.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and navigate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of brand sensitivity.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
