Senior Hardware Design Engineer (Analog & Digital)Experience Level: 5 to 10 Years
Core Design & Architecture
Analog Circuit Design: Develop precision sensor interfaces, small-signal conditioning circuits, low-noise power regulation, and data converters (ADC/DAC). High-Speed Digital Design: Design robust high-speed digital architectures, memory interfaces (DDR/Flash), and high-frequency communication links. Low-Speed Digital Design: Implement low-speed/low-power control circuitry, general-purpose I/O management, and standard system bus topologies. Schematic Capture Tools: Utilize advanced design suites, explicitly including Altium Designer, Siemens Xpedition / DxDesigner, and related enterprise EDA environments. Simulation & Analysis: Perform pre- and post-layout circuit simulations using SPICE engines, HyperLynx, or finite element analysis tools for signal and power integrity. High-Reliability PCB Layout: Direct multi-layer PCB stack-up strategies, impedance matching, strict creepage/clearance constraints, and thermal dissipation paths.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Firmware & Software Alignment: Partner with Embedded Firmware teams to define hardware-software boundaries, timing constraints, and register-level interactions. Mechanical Systems Integration: Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering to manage physical board dimensions, connector placement, structural constraints, and thermal cooling. System & Operations Link: Collaborate with Systems Engineering and Product Management to translate architectural goals into concrete hardware requirements. Manufacturing Optimization: Work alongside production engineering to implement robust Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testing (DFT) strategies.
DUV Testing & Lab Verification
Advanced Instrumentation Mastery: Operate high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and vector network analyzers for hardware verification. Signal Integrity DUV Testing: Execute eye diagram, jitter, and crosstalk evaluations on physical Device Under Test (DUT) hardware. Power Integrity Validation: Measure dynamic rail voltage fluctuations, transient load responses, and power distribution network (PDN) impedance. Hardware Debugging & Analysis: Diagnose complex system-level anomalies down to the discrete component level using structural root-cause methodologies.
Compliance, Testing, and Certification
Third-Party Lab Technical Lead: Serve as the primary technical point of contact to drive independent third-party laboratory verification programs. Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Design for and execute test cases covering radiated and conducted emissions, as well as radiated and conducted immunity. Product Safety Compliance: Implement design topologies conforming to global electrical safety specifications, isolation boundaries, and flammability metrics. Environmental & Stress Testing: Validate hardware durability through highly accelerated lifetime testing, thermal shock, mechanical vibration, and ingress testing. Transient & Surge Protection: Design robust protection circuit topologies to withstand high-energy electrical surges, fast transients, and electrostatic discharge (ESD). Regulatory Documentation: Author and maintain hardware validation test plans, compliance gap matrices, and technical files for official product certification.
