Contract Type: Full Time Role: Embedded Linux Engineer Department: R&D / Engineering Join our team and contribute to the development of a common embedded platform that serves as the foundation for multiple product families. Working closely with Systems Engineering, Hardware, Product Management, Cybersecurity, QA, and Cloud teams, you will design and develop secure, reliable, and scalable software for Linux-based embedded devices. Your work will directly influence platform architecture, connectivity, cybersecurity, device management, and future product capabilities. Role Description
Experienced embedded software professional, working independently on complex technical challenges. Converts system requirements into robust software solutions for embedded Linux platforms. Participates in the design and evolution of a common platform supporting multiple security product families. Contributes to architectural decisions across software, connectivity, security, and device management. Works throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and development through deployment and maintenance. Collaborates closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable and secure products.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain software for Embedded Linux based security products. Develop platform services, communication layers, and application components supporting Access Control and Intrusion solutions. Participate in software architecture discussions and technical design reviews. Develop and maintain networking and communication interfaces, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS485, OSDP, BLE, and other device protocols. Customize and maintain Embedded Linux distributions using Yocto or Buildroot. Design and implement cybersecurity features such as Secure Boot, secure software updates, device authentication, and encrypted communication. Develop Python-based tools for automation, diagnostics, testing, manufacturing support, and engineering productivity. Optimize system performance, reliability, memory usage, startup time, and overall platform stability. Troubleshoot complex software and integration issues across hardware and software layers. Contribute to verification, validation, certification, and production readiness activities. Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure consistency, maintainability, and knowledge sharing. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and development guidelines.
Requirements & Technical Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience developing embedded software. Strong experience developing software for Embedded Linux platforms. Excellent knowledge of C/C++. Good knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, testing, and development tooling. Practical experience with Yocto and/or Buildroot. Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals Experience designing and implementing networking and communication solutions. Experience with Git and modern version control workflows. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. Independence, creativity, and strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing electronic security products, including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Video Surveillance, or IoT solutions. Experience with OSDP, RS485, BLE, or similar communication technologies. Experience with Secure Boot, secure software updates, device authentication, and public key infrastructure (PKI). Experience with cloud-connected devices and edge computing architectures. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks. Familiarity with Linux kernel customization, BSP integration, or device driver development. Experience working with internationally distributed engineering teams.

Individuals may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance.
