In this role, you will contribute to the development of a common hardware platform that serves as the foundation for multiple product families. Working closely with Systems Engineering, Embedded Software, Product Management, Cybersecurity, Mechanical Engineering, Verification, Compliance, and Manufacturing teams, you will design and develop robust, reliable, and scalable hardware for Linux-based security products. Your work will directly influence platform architecture, processing capabilities, connectivity, cybersecurity, manufacturability, and long-term product evolution. The platform will support products designed to meet stringent security and certification requirements, including EN 50131 Grade 3 compliance for professional intrusion detection systems.   Role Description

Experienced hardware design professional, working independently on complex technical challenges. Translates system requirements into production-ready electronic designs. Participates in the architecture and design of a common platform supporting both Intrusion and Access Control product families. Contributes to hardware architecture decisions involving processing platforms, memory architecture, connectivity, cybersecurity, power management, and system reliability. Works throughout the complete product lifecycle, from concept and design through verification, certification, production, and sustaining. Supports the development of products designed to meet regulatory and certification requirements, including EN 50131 Grade 3. Collaborate closely with hardware, software, cybersecurity, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver reliable and secure products.

  Responsibilities

Design electronic hardware for Linux-based embedded security platforms. Define and implement hardware architectures based on modern application processors and supporting microcontrollers. Select and integrate critical system components including DDR/NAND memory, secure elements, communication interfaces, power management circuits. Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer. Perform component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management activities. Evaluate alternative components to address EOL, PCN, supply chain, cost, and risk challenges. Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and circuit-level analysis as required. Support Embedded Linux bring-up activities and hardware-software integration. Execute hardware debugging, verification, and root cause analysis. Develop and execute prototype validation and qualification plans. Participate in design reviews, technical risk assessments, and architecture discussions. Ensure hardware designs support compliance with applicable security and regulatory standards, including EN 50131 Grade 3 requirements. Collaborate with Verification, Compliance, and Certification teams to support qualification and certification activities. Support manufacturing ramp-up, production transfer, and sustaining engineering activities. Collaborate with external design partners and component suppliers when required. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and engineering guidelines.

  Requirements & Technical Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic product development. Strong experience designing mixed-signal electronic systems. Experience designing hardware for Embedded Linux platforms. Practical experience with processor-based designs utilizing: DDR memory, NAND Flash, high-speed interfaces. Experience creating schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer. Strong understanding of digital electronics and embedded hardware architectures. Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, and laboratory measurements. Proficiency with engineering tools. Experience in component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management. Ability to independently analyze designs and propose robust, production-ready solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good written and verbal English communication skills.

  Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing hardware for security products, including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Video Surveillance, or IoT solutions. Experience with products certified according to EN 50131 Grade 2 or Grade 3 requirements. Familiarity with the certification process for professional intrusion detection systems. Experience with application processors from NXP, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, Rockchip, or similar vendors. Knowledge of DDR memory design and high-speed PCB layout techniques. Familiarity with Secure Boot, Secure Elements, TPMs, or other hardware cybersecurity technologies. Experience with communication technologies such as RS485, OSDP, BLE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or cellular connectivity. Understanding of EMC/EMI design and regulatory compliance requirements. Experience supporting manufacturing and production transfer activities. Experience using Jira and Confluence.

  Ideal Candidate A hands-on hardware engineer who combines strong electronics design expertise with practical experience developing Embedded Linux platforms. The ideal candidate understands processor-based system design, memory architectures, connectivity, cybersecurity requirements, certification constraints, and manufacturing considerations. They enjoy creating robust hardware platforms that will support future generations of both Access Control and Intrusion products while meeting the demanding requirements of EN 50131 Grade 3 security applications.   We Offer
