The posting

About the Company

The company is a growing commercial specialty contractor with approximately $100M in annual revenue. The company specializes in drywall, metal stud framing, interior systems, and floor preparation, partnering with top general contractors on complex commercial projects.

The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality interior finishes and reliable project execution across the Richmond, DC, and Raleigh markets. Their work spans corporate interiors, healthcare facilities, government spaces, and advanced technology environments, including highly secure and technically demanding facilities.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline—particularly in data centers and secure facilities (SCIF environments)—the company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Estimator to join their Richmond team.

About the Position

The Senior Project Manager / Estimator will play a critical dual role supporting both preconstruction and project execution. This individual will lead the estimating process for commercial interior systems projects while also managing awarded projects from handoff through closeout.

This position requires a strong understanding of drywall, metal stud framing, and interior systems construction, along with the leadership skills necessary to manage multiple projects, maintain strong relationships with general contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction / Estimating

  • Review construction drawings and specifications to prepare accurate project estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost proposals
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and negotiated proposals
  • Participate in scope reviews and value engineering opportunities

Project Management

  • Manage projects from contract award through completion
  • Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, subcontractors, and general contractors
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong client relationships
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, procurement, and change orders
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans, safety standards, and contract requirements

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Years of Experience

  • 10–15 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably within drywall, metal framing, or interior systems

Project Types

  • Commercial interiors
  • Data centers
  • SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) environments
  • Corporate interiors and secure government facilities

Project Size

  • Mid- to large-scale commercial interior build-outs and specialized interior systems scopes

Project Location

  • Primarily Richmond, VA, with projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region

Other Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of drywall assemblies, metal stud framing, and interior systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with estimating software and construction management tools

Benefits

  • Base Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Performance-based incentives
  • Comprehensive health benefits
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Opportunity for growth within a rapidly expanding specialty contractor

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
