The posting

Kind Behavioral Health is a leading provider of Applied Behavior Analysis services, dedicated to improving the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (“ASD”). We provide life-changing treatment to children with ASD, providing outstanding quality care, and delivering exceptional clinical outcomes, in an environment in which all are encouraged to THINK BIG, HAVE FUN, and DO GOOD. We deliver treatment through individualized plans of care, and target socially significant behaviors, enabling the clients we serve to lead more independent, fulfilling lives.

The Referral Development & Outreach Specialist builds and strengthens relationships with healthcare providers, schools, autism support organizations, and other community partners to increase awareness of Kind Behavioral Health's (KBH) services and generate referrals for children and teens who may benefit from ABA therapy.

This remote, field-based position requires residence in North Carolina, preferably in the Charlotte or Triangle area. Approximately 50–60% of working time is spent traveling within assigned markets, conducting in-person outreach, and engaging referral partners, with the remaining time spent working remotely or onsite at a KBH location, based on employee preference and business needs. The role focuses on developing new referral relationships, maintaining engagement with existing partners, and positioning KBH as a trusted provider of autism services. Success requires proactive outreach, strong interpersonal skills, consistent follow-through, and the ability to independently manage referral development activities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with pediatricians, diagnostic providers, therapists, schools, autism support organizations, and other potential referral sources.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with existing partners through regular visits, communication, and follow-through.
  • Educate referral partners about KBH's services, referral processes, and availability to support appropriate referrals
  • Plan and conduct proactive, in-person outreach across assigned markets to develop new referral opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Represent KBH at community events, professional meetings, and networking opportunities.
  • Coordinate referral partner educational activities, including Lunch & Learns, in partnership with local clinic teams
  • Develop and execute outreach plans aligned with market priorities, referral opportunities, and clinic capacity.
  • Monitor referral activity, identify opportunities to strengthen partner engagement, and support growth in qualified referrals.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership, intake, and marketing to ensure referral partners receive accurate and timely information
  • Maintain accurate referral partner information, outreach activity, and follow-up records in HubSpot.
  • Track new and active referral relationships, referral trends, and outreach effectiveness.
  • Share referral activity, market insights, and growth opportunities with business development leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience in business development, sales, provider relations, community outreach, or similar relationship-based work, including demonstrated experience independently developing and maintaining customer, client, or referral relationships. OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, healthcare administration or related field with 1+ year relevant experience in business development, sales, provider relations, community outreach, or similar relationship-based work. Relevant internships may qualify.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently initiate conversations, engage unfamiliar individuals, and build productive professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to independently identify opportunities, manage priorities, and follow through to achieve results.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and follow-through skills, with the ability to independently manage schedules, competing priorities, and commitments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to unexpected questions or situations and adapt to different audiences.
  • Proficiency with common business technology and ability to learn CRM and reporting systems.
  • Must reside in North Carolina and be willing and able to conduct regular in-person outreach and travel throughout assigned markets.
  • Experience in healthcare, applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral health, provider relations, or healthcare referral development; preferred.
  • Experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM platform; preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
