The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Enrichment Program Specialist, UNLV Lifelong Learning, Community Education and Enrichment [R0153585]

ROLE of the POSITION

The Enrichment Program Specialist reports to the Senior Director of Community Education and Enrichment in UNLV Lifelong Learning (LLL), and is part of UNLV Undergraduate Education and High Impact Practices in Academic Affairs.

The Enrichment Program Specialist’s primary responsibility is to assist and support unit leadership, program manager and other staff of the UNLV Lifelong Learning’s enrichment unit by providing oversight to ensure the educational, operational, and fiscal success of personal enrichment classes, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), and Maryland Auxiliary Building 2 (MAB2) conference services programming. This support includes continuous development and implementation of Southern Nevada’s premiere intentional learning community, non-credit enrichment classes, conferences, teleconferences, seminars, special events, shared interest groups, OLLI governance committees, and other related programming. Further the position will share responsibility for creating and managing high quality, innovative and revenue generating courses, programs, and initiatives; and assisting the senior director, staff, and volunteers in maintaining and improving program functions, increasing membership and revenue including fundraising, and implementing procedures for program implementation and assessment. The Enrichment Program Specialist must participate in sustaining and a respectful, positive work environment.

This position is accountable for (1) coordinating a broad portfolio of personal enrichment courses, OLLI classes, shared interest groups and related programming; (2) developing, documenting and implementing processes and procedures to meet the demands and provide a sustainable and iconic experience to our students, members, and community. (3) budget, fiscal, and student/member experience management responsibility as well as identifying additional funding sources for the relevant program(s); (4) collaboration on behalf of UNLV Lifelong Learning with university academic departments, business and industry, government, education, and other campus and community partners.

By addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support, this position will play a part in enhancing student enrollment, retention, successful progression, timely completion, and equitable outcomes, in order to meaningfully contribute to the institution's commitment to expand access, grow enrollment, and promote career-ready student success that leads to timely graduation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-2 years of experience in a related profession. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

BACKGROUND SCREENING

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background screening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

1 - 2 years in lifelong learning (or closely related field), education, volunteer, healthcare, and/or non-profit organizations.
