The posting

Klarna, briefly

At Klarna, we're building an everyday finance network, helping over 120 million consumers across 26 countries save time and money, and worry less about their finances. Working here means taking on problems most companies never get to solve, and being hands-on enough that the interesting part of the work lands with you, not someone else — you'll build with AI, not watch it happen.

This is the stretch zone. Come find out what you're capable of.

About the role

Klarna's Operational Risk team covers a global product portfolio, and the calls made there rest on the quality of the underlying data and control testing — not just the frameworks on paper. You'll drive data-informed risk management across that portfolio: pulling signal out of structured and unstructured data, running independent control tests and process reviews, and turning what you find into decisions the business and risk functions can act on.

You'll work directly with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations — feeding your findings into how Klarna's risk controls evolve and into the regulatory reporting and governance that keeps the bank compliant across markets.

What you'll do

  • You'll analyze structured and unstructured data to monitor risk performance and surface emerging patterns across Klarna's product portfolio.
  • You'll turn your analysis into concrete recommendations that support business and risk decisions.
  • You'll run independent control testing and process reviews to evaluate whether existing risk frameworks actually hold up.
  • You'll contribute to regulatory reporting and governance processes.
  • You'll work with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations to identify and implement improvements to risk controls.

Who you are

  • You've spent 5+ years working in fintech, banking, or consulting, with a focus on risk management.
  • You've run independent data analysis to support risk initiatives, not just consumed analysis someone else produced.
  • You've conducted control testing and process reviews inside a risk or compliance function.
  • You understand the regulatory requirements that apply to Klarna's markets and have supported risk reporting processes before.
  • You communicate findings clearly to stakeholders outside risk — Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations — and adjust your explanation to the audience.

Bonus points for

  • A relevant certification such as CFE or CRCMP.
  • Experience working with data models, analytics techniques, or automated decision systems.
  • A background in payments specifically, alongside broader financial services.
  • A degree in Finance, Risk Management, Data Science, or a related field.

Things you should know before applying

  • Working together: we value co-located teams; most teams currently meet in the office 2–3 days per week, and this varies by team and can change over time.
  • Non-obvious backgrounds are welcome. Diversity of skills, perspectives and backgrounds is how we create, innovate, and disrupt like no other.
  • Final compensation will be based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.

Please include a CV in English. Concrete beats comprehensive — what you built, what it did, what it cost.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
