The posting

Klarna, briefly

At Klarna, we're building an everyday finance network, helping over 120 million consumers across 26 countries save time and money, and worry less about their finances. Working here means taking on problems most companies never get to solve, and being hands-on enough that the interesting part of the work lands with you, not someone else — you'll build with AI, not watch it happen. This is the stretch zone. Come find out what you're capable of.

About the role

Every merchant-funded financing offer Klarna runs trades volume against margin, and someone has to decide where that line sits. In this position, that's you. You'll own the economics of our long-term financing product from the Win Financing team, working side by side with Pricing, commercial teams and partners. This is a commercial position with an analytical core. You'll size and structure deals, watch the live book, and turn evidence into a recommendation that Pricing and commercial leads can act on. You'll own the commercial recommendation and the post-launch review. Pricing owns firm-wide policy and committee decisions. The position is open at L4 and L5, and the scope you take on will reflect your experience.

What you'll do

  • You'll structure merchant-funded and subsidised financing packages, setting MDR and buy rates, term mix and minimums, and showing how consumer APR and merchant cost fit together.
  • You'll size each package so it is competitive and clears a return hurdle, then take your recommended route to market to Pricing.
  • You'll review live packages, campaigns and default pricing on an ongoing basis to find where subsidy is wasted, where Klarna is uncompetitive, and where volume or margin is being left behind.
  • You'll recommend reprices, mix changes, exclusions and keep-or-kill decisions based on what the live book shows.
  • You'll partner with commercial leads on new business and market launches, including enterprise 0% offers, mass enablement, high-AOV verticals, in-store, and affiliate- or partner-funded offers.
  • You'll run pre/post and experiment analysis on pricing, terms, credit mix and incrementality, and deliver a go/no-go with the pricing implication attached.
  • You'll quantify competitive and policy gaps, size the commercial risk, and write short pre-reads that move Pricing, underwriting and commercial teams to a decision.
  • You'll own the recurring reporting on volume, share of checkout, conversion, subsidy use, and realised versus expected economics, and define what sales and partners need to access.

Who you are

  • You write SQL regularly and analyse deals at merchant and session level.
  • You know MDR, subsidy, APR, credit mix and lending unit economics well enough to size a deal against a return hurdle.
  • You've designed A/B or pre/post tests and reviewed a live commercial book, and you can turn the results into a decision.
  • You write short, decision-ready papers that get leadership to a decision.
  • You're comfortable in rooms with sales, partners and enterprise stakeholders.

Bonus points for

  • Experience in fintech, lending, ecommerce or BNPL.
  • Time spent in pricing, deal desk, commercial finance or consulting.

Things you should know before applying

  • This position is open in London and in the US.
  • Working together: we value co-located teams; most teams currently meet in the office 2–3 days per week, and this varies by team and can change over time.
  • Non-obvious backgrounds are welcome. Diversity of skills, perspectives and backgrounds is how we create, innovate, and disrupt like no other.
  • Final compensation will be based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
