The posting

At Klim, we work with farmers and food companies to make regenerative agriculture scalable and financially rewarding for farmers. Through our platform, we help farmers restore soil health, increase biodiversity and capture carbon while creating new, reliable income streams.

We’re a Berlin-based AgriTech startup backed by $22M in Series A funding, partnering with global food leaders such as Nestlé and Kaufland to reduce emissions across their supply chains and build long-term resilience. Since 2020, we’ve supported 3,500 farmers managing over 900,000 hectares.

If you’re passionate about building a sustainable food system and driving real climate impact, join us and help create a healthier planet!

Your mission:

- Lead a cross functional team of Soil Scientists and Software Engineers to develop and implement SOC models as the foundation of Klim’s platform

- Own and drive the product roadmap for carbon, biodiversity, and broader soil science and agronomic models

- Expand Klim’s modelling capabilities beyond carbon into crop and agronomic insights, and over time into economic models such as farm level P&L

- Contribute to the commercial scalability of Klim’s solutions and support large scale decarbonisation of agricultural supply chains

Your responsibilities:

1. Product Definition and Delivery

- Translate scientific models into clear product requirements and features

- Align modelling work with product and company goals

- Drive execution from concept to production

- Develop a strong understanding of underlying models to effectively guide product decisions and challenge assumptions

2. Model Development, Carbon and Beyond

- Improve accuracy and scalability of carbon models as the core system

- Expand models to include agronomic metrics, new practices, and new geographies

- Identify and prioritise additional soil science or environmental metrics

3. Compliance and Scientific Integrity

- Ensure alignment with key standards such as VERRA VM0042, GHG Protocol, SustainCERT, SAI RTF and ISOMETRIC

- Work with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance and scientific credibility

4. Team Leadership and Execution

- Lead and prioritise the work of a cross functional team of scientists and engineers

- Ensure effective collaboration between scientific development and product implementation

- Create clarity on priorities and trade offs

5. Cross Functional Alignment

- Partner with MRV to ensure models meet regulatory requirements

- Collaborate with Farmer Sales to ensure consistency with field data

- Align with other product teams to integrate models into the platform

- Incorporate client and market insights into product decisions to maximise commercial impact

Your profile:

Product and Execution Skills

- 3 to 6 years of product management experience, ideally in data/scientific heavy or technical products

- Proven track record of shipping products end to end

- Experience running development cycles and sprints

- Strong prioritization and problem solving

- Ability to operate effectively in a fast changing environment with evolving requirements and constraints

Strategic and Commercial Thinking

- Ability to shape short to long term product strategy

- Prioritise features based on impact, feasibility, and regulatory constraints

- Adapt to evolving regulations and markets

Stakeholder Management

- Translate complex technical topics for non technical audiences

- Align multiple stakeholders across functions

- Strong communication skills

Technical Understanding

- Strong ability to understand complex models at a high level, including their assumptions, limitations, and implications for product decisions

- Degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as physics, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, or similar is a strong plus

- High attention to detail and rigor when working with data, models, and assumptions

- Able to quickly learn and reason about new technical domains

Languages

- English required

- German is a plus but not a requirement

Your benefits:

- Opportunity: Be part of our journey from the very beginning, working on an equal footing with the leadership team to build a new company.

- Impact: Make a daily and active contribution to combating climate change, promoting consumer education, and fostering fair conditions for our climate-conscious farmers.

- Autonomy: Take ownership of your projects and enjoy a high degree of creative freedom.

- Flexible work model: At Klim, we foster a flexible, hybrid work approach and facilitate remote work (within the EU). It is advantageous for this role if you live in Berlin or can be present in our office regularly.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
