The posting

We're looking for an experienced Estimator and Office Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of a construction business. The primary focus of the role is preparing estimates for roofing and cladding projects, while also providing administrative support, tracking jobs and materials, following up on sales activities, and assisting with bookkeeping tasks. This is a broad, hands-on position best suited for someone who is comfortable balancing estimating responsibilities with office operations in a dynamic work environment.

Estimating

  • Prepare accurate estimates for roofing and cladding projects from plans and specifications.
  • Complete quantity take-offs and measure materials required for each job.
  • Price jobs using current material and labour costs, and prepare quotes for clients.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing and availability of roofing and cladding materials.

Job & Material Tracking

  • Job & Material Tracking
  • Monitor material orders and deliveries against job requirements.
  • Maintain job and material registers to keep projects on schedule and on budget.

Sales

  • Follow up on outstanding quotes with prospective clients.
  • Support the sales process by keeping leads and opportunities up to date.

General Admin (Bookkeeping)

  • Provide general administrative support across the business.
  • Assist with day to day bookkeeping tasks such as processing invoices, maintaining and updating trackers and spreadsheets, assisting with contract administration and management.
  • Help set up and administer payroll
  • 3-5 years of experience similar to the role.
  • Proven experience estimating roofing and/or cladding projects
  • Experience working with international construction companies, preferably supporting projects in Australia, or New Zealand.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software such as PlanSwift and Bluebeam.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience handling administrative and bookkeeping-related tasks, including: Tracking deliveries and project materials, Processing invoices, Maintaining and updating trackers and spreadsheets, and Assisting with contract administration and management.
