Job Description

Urban Retreat is seeking a professional, service-oriented and responsible Masseuse / Massage Therapist to provide quality foot reflexology and body therapy services to our customers. The successful candidate should possess good massage techniques, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, professionalism and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Foot Reflexology and Massage Therapy

  • Perform foot reflexology treatments using appropriate massage techniques, pressure and movements according to customers’ needs and service requirements.
  • Provide body massage and body therapy services, including techniques such as relaxation massage and muscle tension relief, within the therapist’s training and competence.
  • Conduct basic customer consultations to understand preferences, comfort levels and relevant areas of tension before treatment.
  • Adjust massage pressure and techniques according to customer feedback while maintaining professional boundaries and safe treatment practices.
  • Ensure customers receive consistent, attentive and professional service throughout their visits.

2. Customer Service and Client Relations

  • Greet customers warmly, explain available treatments and assist them in selecting suitable services.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers before, during and after treatments.
  • Respond courteously to customer enquiries, feedback and service concerns, referring complex complaints to the supervisor or management.
  • Support customer retention by delivering a welcoming, reliable and comfortable service experience.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality and uphold Urban Retreat’s service standards.

3. Hygiene, Cleanliness and Workplace Safety

  • Clean and sanitize massage chairs, beds, foot tubs, tools and treatment areas before and after each session.
  • Change towels, linens and other treatment materials between customers and ensure used items are handled appropriately.
  • Maintain personal hygiene, clean work attire and a neat, professional appearance.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and condition of equipment, supplies and customer facilities.
  • Follow the company’s hygiene procedures, workplace safety requirements and applicable regulatory standards.

4. Administrative and Outlet Operations

  • Assist with customer bookings, appointment scheduling, walk-in enquiries and service coordination.
  • Record treatments provided, customer preferences and other relevant service information accurately.
  • Assist with billing, payment collection and basic point-of-sale transactions where required.
  • Monitor treatment supplies and notify management when stocks require replenishment.
  • Support daily opening and closing procedures and maintain orderly records of outlet operations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to manage customer flow, maintain service quality and ensure smooth daily operations.

Job Requirements

  • Relevant practical experience in foot reflexology, body massage or massage therapy is preferred.
  • Demonstrated practical skills in foot reflexology and body massage techniques.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a polite and customer-oriented attitude.
  • Able to understand customer needs, respond appropriately to feedback and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Strong commitment to personal hygiene, treatment-room cleanliness and workplace safety.
  • Basic administrative, booking and payment-handling skills.
  • Responsible, punctual, patient and able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays according to the outlet’s roster.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with massage therapy.
  • Relevant massage therapy training or certification is an advantage.
