Business Development Representative As a Business Development Representative, you own the top of the funnel. You'll research and prioritize target accounts with an assigned Go-to-Market Lead, run multi-channel outbound (email, phone, LinkedIn), and set qualified meetings for our sellers. You'll work closely with Sales, Marketing, and our Databricks alliance team to turn territory strategy into booked conversations. This isn't a "smile and dial from a list" job. Our buyers are data and engineering leaders (CDOs, VPs of Data, Heads of Analytics, CTOs) evaluating serious platform decisions. You need to be curious enough about data and AI to hold a credible first conversation. What you'll do: Build and prioritize target account lists in partnership with sellers and marketing Run consistent outbound sequences across email, phone, and LinkedIn using Apollo Qualify inbound leads and route them quickly Set discovery meetings that convert into proposals and closed business Log every activity, contact, and opportunity accurately in Salesforce Partner with sellers on account strategy and handoff quality Attend and follow up on leads from Databricks co-selling motions, events, and webinars Share what's working: messaging tests, objection patterns, ICP signals Required Skills: 1–3 years of BDR/SDR, inside sales, or comparable pipeline-generation experience (B2B) Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding meeting/pipeline targets Strong written communication — you can write a cold email a technical buyer will actually reply to Comfort with a CRM (Salesforce preferred) and a sales engagement platform (Apollo, Outreach, Salesloft, or similar) Coachable, organized, and consistent — this role rewards daily discipline Genuine interest in data, cloud, and AI; willingness to learn the Databricks ecosystem Nice to have: Experience selling into technical buyers or in a services/consulting environment Familiarity with the Databricks, Snowflake, or broader cloud data ecosystem Experience with a channel or partner-led motion Exposure to LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, or similar prospecting tools
