Job Description
We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with a focus on Computer Vision to strengthen our technology stack. This role offers a unique opportunity to build real-world applications of AI and computer vision end to end, from backend services to the web interfaces our customers use, contributing directly to the innovation and effectiveness of our SpatialSense product.
Key Responsibilities
Full Stack Development
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable backend services and responsive web frontends according to specifications.
- Build interactive interfaces for spatial data presentation, including GIS map views and 3D visualization of point clouds and digital twins.
- Implement and manage database systems (relational and non-relational) and optimize queries for high performance.
- Integrate and manage asynchronous tasks and services using technologies like Celery for efficient backend operations.
- Develop APIs, WebSockets, and webhooks that connect frontend, backend, and computer vision pipelines.
- Create applications for the edge and cloud.
Computer Vision & Product
- Develop and refine algorithms to enhance our capabilities, with a particular focus on spatial data presentation using GIS.
- Participate in the design and development of new features that use cutting-edge computer vision techniques to advance our digital twin technology.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope.
Engineering Practices
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using appropriate software development methodologies.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
- Debug and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions to propose and implement solutions that align with business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and QA engineers to integrate software components, resolve integration issues, and develop and execute comprehensive test plans.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Backend
- Proficient in Python, with proven experience using the Django framework.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience with other backend technologies or frameworks (e.g., Flask, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Django REST Framework, Java Spring).
- Strong understanding and practical experience with WebSockets and webhooks.
- Experience with task queuing systems, particularly Celery.
- Solid understanding of caching mechanisms (e.g., Redis, Memcached) to improve application performance.
- Expert knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and database design principles.
Frontend
- Strong experience building modern web frontends with JavaScript/TypeScript and a framework such as React.
- Experience with mapping or 3D visualization libraries (e.g., Mapbox, CesiumJS, deck.gl http://deck.gl, Three.js) is a strong plus.
- Ability to turn design mockups into responsive, high-quality user interfaces.
Cloud, Edge & DevOps
- Proficiency in creating applications for the cloud and edge.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services.
- Familiarity with edge computing concepts and technologies, such as CDN, caching, and edge caching.
- Prior DevOps experience.
- Experience with ROS software and methodologies is a plus.
General
- Strong understanding of software development principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
