Want to be close to the decisions that shape a neobank?

Join kompasbank’s Risk Management function as a Student Assistant

Are you curious about the intersection of finance, risk, and technology? And are you ready to take on real responsibility early in your career? Then grab the opportunity to take a part-time job in kompasbank’s Risk Management function alongside your studies.

We’re looking for an analytically sharp Student Assistant to join our Risk Management function, working directly with our Chief Risk Officer (CRO). You’ll help with analysis, reports, and projects that management and directors use to keep track of the bank’s risks. Along the way, you’ll see up close how a fast-growing, fully licensed neobank makes decisions at the very top.

What you will be doing

The role is project-driven, and no two weeks will look the same. That said, you’ll primarily work across these areas:

  • Supporting the CRO: Helping to carry out risk reviews, checking how well the bank identifies and handles its risks. You will also help keep our overview of the bank’s key risks up to date, along with our model inventory – the list of models the bank uses and how each one is controlled.
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis and risk reporting: Collecting and analysing data, researching specific questions and helping to assess risks. For example, you might look at how our risk models are set up and whether they work as intended.
  • Reports and dashboards for management and the Board: Helping to turn your analysis into clear reports and dashboards. Examples include the monthly risk appetite report, which shows whether the bank stays within the limits for how much risk it’s willing to take, the annual CRO report, and the dashboards presented to the Board of Directors.

And don’t worry. You’ll have experienced colleagues backing you, helping you find your way in both risk management and banking.

Who we are looking for

Ideally, you:

  • Are currently enrolled as a 3rd-year Bachelor’s or 1st-year Master’s student in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Have strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in the modern FinTech ecosystemAre already familiar with or want to learn and apply advanced GenAI tools to optimise analytical workflows, automate data synthesis, and assist in complex financial research.
  • Communicate fluently in English. Spoken Danish is an advantage but not a prerequisite.

What we offer

We offer a high-energy, collaborative fintech environment built on trust, humour, ambition, and innovation.

  • High-level exposure: You report directly to the CRO and get a front-row view of executive decision-making in a licensed EU bank, with a steep learning curve.
  • Competitive student pay: Hourly rate from 165 DKK (BA) / 180 DKK (Master).
  • Flexibility: Typically 15–20 hours per week, with full flexibility around exams and study commitments.
  • A vibrant student community: 10+ fellow students from CBS, DTU, KU, and CPH Business in our Student Forum.
  • Perks: Free lunch, cake on Thursdays, a free fitness studio on site, and a strong health insurance package with broad coverage.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
