Project Manager – Solar Projects:

Job Summary:

The Head Office Project Manager for Solar Projects will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all project management activities from the head office. This role involves project scheduling, tracking, procurement, vendor management, budgeting, and ensuring smooth communication between various stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of solar power projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site execution teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and address bottlenecks to keep projects on track.
  • Prepare and track project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficiency.

Procurement & Vendor Management:

  • Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and float inquiries to vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations, negotiate contracts, and finalize purchase orders.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Maintain relationships with key suppliers and explore new vendors for cost-effective solutions.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Liaise with clients, government agencies, and internal teams for necessary approvals and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including land lease agreements and project permissions.
  • Coordinate with site teams to resolve execution challenges and ensure alignment with project schedules.

Billing & Payment Processing:

  • Oversee project billing, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments while maintaining credit terms.
  • Manage cash flow planning for procurement and project execution.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Keep updated with the latest developments in solar energy technologies and policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil) or Project Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar projects.
  • Experience in procurement, vendor negotiation, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory approvals and compliance for solar power projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, or other project management tools.

Key Skills:

  • Strong project coordination and scheduling skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical skills for cost estimation and financial planning.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems, energy regulations, and power purchase agreements.
