The posting

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing supplier quality performance, resolving manufacturing and material issues, conducting supplier audits and qualifications, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role collaborates with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, process excellence, and reliable supply chain performance.

Responsibilities

  • On-site response to machine issues to identify, diagnose and resolve supplier quality and supplier process related problems to achieve defined First Pass Yield, Productivity and Target Throughput
  • Make the disposition of the defective material on-site
  • Perform failure analysis using both the special failure analysis tools and on machine level
  • Drive programs (NPI and Supply Chain) to develop supplier manufacturing processes, and quality systems
  • Lead the technical support and drive continuous improvement systems to achieve problem resolution with supplier which will involve the coordination between production, engineering, procurement and suppliers
  • Conduct SWOT and RA, select supplier, perform supplier audit and First Article qualification of components/assemblies and develop new suppliers
  • Set up (online) critical parameters monitoring at supplier site
  • Monitor and continually improve suppliers’ materials quality performance; compute monthly supplier quality perf and conduct Quarterly Business Review.
  • Drive supplier actions for timely factory manufacturing/materials issues resolution; troubleshoot and drive root cause failure analysis
  • Ability to define and document procedure for the Organization
  • Ability to provide guidance/coaching, and share lessons learnt within SQE for strengthening SQE team’s capabilities.
  • Ability to take lead team members from various functions for driving supplier quality improvement.

Qualifications

  • Master or Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or related engineering qualification
  • Minimum 5-7 years related SQE experience.
  • Experience in managing/resolving part/processes issues and experience in supplier quality management.
  • Good presentation skills and interactive skills to handle the Supplier including top mgt to derive results.
  • Ability to write report on supplier audit with proficiency in English.
  • Capable to converse in Mandarin with the SQE in Suzhou and Suppliers in China, Taiwan and Korea (Eastern Asia region).
  • Acquired the soft skills to interact with supplier Top Management for support to attain the required quality focus.
  • Capable to interface with the other departments to resolve technical issues.
