The posting

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions.

If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.

Role Purpose

You will help design the electrical systems that power every venue of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Reporting to the Director, Energy Design Engineering, you support the design of temporary electrical overlay, load estimation, and detailed electrical studies across competition and non-competition venues. Working within the Venue Infrastructure team in the years leading up to the Games, you help ensure reliable, resilient power is designed and delivered for every operational site — turning load analysis and technical review into venues that are ready to perform when competition begins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical studies to determine load requirements and perform energy capacity analysis to identify supply gaps.
  • Analyze energy-related risks to venue power supply and recommend solutions for loading, reliability, and resiliency.
  • Track venue design revisions and evaluate their impact on temporary power overlays on existing infrastructure.
  • Support integration of internal stakeholders with external delivery partners, including temporary power providers and electrical design engineers.
  • Execute the approval and review process for Energy technical requirements, aligning with Venue Infrastructure, Technology, and Broadcast teams.

Required Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and at least 4 years of experience assessing, designing, or implementing electrical infrastructure.
  • Proven experience developing detailed electrical designs and integrating practical energy solutions into those design packages.
  • Ability to perform load estimation and energy capacity analysis that identifies power supply gaps, reliability risks, and resiliency needs.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, for engineering analysis and stakeholder reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, presenting technical information clearly and concisely to leadership, contractors, and government agencies.

Valued Experience

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360.
  • Experience working with electric utilities and temporary power providers.
  • Experience designing temporary electrical overlay for large venues or major events.
  • Familiarity with electrical studies across competition and non-competition venues.

What We Offer

  • Career-defining exposure to large-scale temporary power design for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Real contribution to the electrical systems that keep every venue running.
  • A collaborative engineering team that values technical rigor and pragmatic delivery.
  • Meaningful scope and transferable engineering experience on a landmark, time-bound project.

What This Role Means for the Games

The detailed electrical designs you develop ensure every venue receives reliable, resilient power the moment competition begins. Your engineering keeps competition, broadcast, and operations continuously powered, and the resilient systems you help design support a safe, seamless, and well-delivered Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
