About Us:

Located in the heart of South London, Lambeth Borough is a vibrant community of over 317,600 residents. Stretching from the dynamic neighbourhood of Streatham in the South to the iconic landmarks of Waterloo in the North, we are proud to be the 9th largest borough in London. Our diversity is our strength, with more than 130 languages spoken, making Lambeth the home of the Windrush generation, London's largest LGBTQ+ community, and a thriving Portuguese-speaking community.

It is an exciting time to join Lambeth Council; we have bold ambitions for the future of Lambeth’s communities and residents through delivery of our priorities.

With exceptional schools, lush green spaces including Brockwell Park, cultural gems like the Black Cultural Archives, and world-renowned institutions such as St Thomas's Hospital, Lambeth offers an enriching and dynamic environment.

Our One Lambeth values of Equity, Kindness, Accountability and Ambition guide how we work together to support our communities, residents and each other.

Please have a look at our dedicated One Lambeth Values and Behaviours page.

About the team

Human Resources and Organisational Development plays a key role in enabling organisational development, workforce strategy and transformational change across the Council. The service is structured across:

  • HR Business Partnering and Employee Relations
  • Resourcing and Operations
  • Organisational Development and Inclusion

Together, these teams deliver a strategic, customer-focused and digitally enabled people service that supports organisational performance, workforce sustainability and excellent people management practice.

As part of the HR Business Partnering and Employee Relations team, you will join a collaborative, knowledgeable and supportive group of professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality people services that promote fairness, consistency and positive employee experiences. The team works closely with managers across the Council, providing advice, guidance and practical solutions on a wide range of people matters while helping to build manager confidence and capability. We are committed to continuous improvement, professional development and creating opportunities for colleagues to learn, grow and make a meaningful impact.

About the Role:

We have two permanent Employee Relations Advisor opportunities available: one full-time position and one part-time position (21 hours per week, 3 days per week). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to develop their employee relations expertise within a diverse and forward-thinking organisation.

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters, providing timely, practical and professional advice to managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance and performance issues. You will support managers through formal processes, contribute to maintaining high standards of casework quality and governance, and help ensure that employment practices are fair, consistent and legally compliant. Working closely with colleagues across HR, you will also contribute to developing guidance, manager learning and continuous improvement initiatives that promote excellent people management across the Council.

Contact Information: For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Rowan Lewin or Marlene McLeod, Employee Relations & Change Managers, via email at [email protected] or [email protected].

If you would like to learn more about joining our HR & Organisational Development team and the opportunities available, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
