Thompson Truck Group (TTG) is looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial, and results-driven Used Ford Commercial Truck Sales & Inventory Manager to lead and grow our pre-owned commercial truck business in Chattanooga.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Ford commercial truck professional who knows how to source inventory, develop customer relationships, drive truck sales, and build a thriving business. You'll play a key role in creating one of the Southeast's premier destinations for used and Ford Blue Advantage Certified commercial trucks.

What You'll Do

Source and Manage Inventory

  • Acquire quality used Ford commercial truck inventory through auctions, fleet accounts, dealer trades, lease returns, wholesalers, and direct purchases.
  • Evaluate market demand, vehicle condition, and profitability to make sound purchasing decisions.
  • Develop strong relationships with wholesalers, auction representatives, fleet managers, and commercial truck dealers.

Drive Sales Growth

  • Lead retail sales efforts for used commercial trucks locally and nationwide.
  • Manage internet and digital sales opportunities outside the dealership's Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Build and maintain a strong prospect pipeline through networking, referrals, digital marketing, and relationship development.
  • Serve a wide range of commercial customers including contractors, municipalities, utility companies, and transportation providers.

Lead Ford Blue Advantage Growth

  • Develop and execute TTG's strategy for Ford Blue Advantage Certified commercial trucks.
  • Identify and acquire inventory eligible for certification.
  • Work closely with service and reconditioning teams to prepare vehicles for certification.
  • Position Thompson Truck Group as a leader in certified pre-owned Ford commercial truck sales.

Optimize Inventory Performance

  • Establish pricing strategies that maximize profitability.
  • Oversee vehicle merchandising, photography, online listings, and reconditioning.
  • Monitor inventory aging and improve inventory turn.
  • Track key performance metrics including sales volume, gross profit, lead conversion, and inventory acquisition performance.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Ford Commercial Truck sales experience.
  • Proven success acquiring, managing, and selling used commercial truck inventory.
  • Strong knowledge of Ford Super Duty, Chassis Cab, Medium Duty, and vocational truck applications.
  • Experience purchasing inventory through auctions, wholesale channels, dealer trades, and fleet sources.
  • Strong business development, negotiation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Experience using internet sales platforms and digital lead generation tools.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing network of wholesalers, auction contacts, fleet operators, and commercial truck buyers.
  • Experience with vocational truck upfitting and body applications.
  • Knowledge of commercial financing and fleet acquisition programs.
  • Experience with Ford Blue Advantage Certified Vehicle processes.
