About Lavish Alice

Lavish Alice is a British occasionwear brand with a decade of experience dressing women for the moments that matter. We design for women who want to feel powerful, polished, and unmistakably themselves. Born in Britain, built for the world, we're a fast-growing, digitally-led brand shipping globally, with ambitious plans for where we go next. We're a small, sharp team that moves quickly, and we're looking for people who want to help shape that next chapter - not just join it.

Role Summary

This role owns the day-to-day merch, trading and performance of our sites. Driving commercial performance through disciplined use of trading data, site merchandising, and promotional planning.

You'll own the numbers behind our range - from pre-season analysis and range build through to pricing architecture, size ratios, stock flow, and markdown - making sure we have the right product, in the right depth, at the right price, at the right time. Alongside this, you'll trade our sites day to day, turning merchandising decisions into commercial performance online.

You'll be the person making sure the site works as hard as it possibly can - commercially sharp, seamless to shop, and always reflecting what's happening in stock, demand, and campaigns in real time. The role sits within the Trade & Merch team and works closely with the Marketing & Creative Team to ensure the trade calendar and marketing calendar are fully aligned - so that site experience, stock, and campaign activity move in lockstep.

Built for a commercially minded all-rounder who wants their hands on every lever - merch, trade, and ecommerce - and to see the direct impact on the numbers.

Core Responsibilities

Merchandising Support

  • Lead pre-season analysis, reviewing prior season performance by category, style, price point, and size to shape the next range.
  • Build out the range plan - option counts, category balance, depth, and drop phasing - in partnership with the Product & Design team.
  • Own and maintain the pricing architecture, ensuring clear price ladders across categories that protect margin and reflect brand positioning.
  • Complete size ratio analysis to set buy ratios by category and style, reducing broken size runs and aged stock.
  • Manage the seasonal recode of stock, ensuring season codes, carryover lines, and aged stock are accurately classified across all systems.
  • Product Critical Path & Stock Management - Own the product critical path from sample to site, tracking every key milestone and flagging any risk to on-time launch of new-in or campaign product.
  • Raise, track, and maintain POs and SOs, ensuring order data is accurate and aligned with Production & Import on delivery windows.
  • Manage stock transfers between locations and channels, keeping stock positioned where demand is strongest.
  • Lead in-season stock reviews, identifying best- and worst-sellers and recommending re-orders, repeats, markdown, or repromotion.
  • Build and manage markdown and promotional plans across the season, balancing sell-through, stock exposure, and margin.
  • Track markdown and promotional performance, feeding learnings back into future pricing and promo decisions.
  • Own promotional mechanics on-site (discount codes, sale segmentation, banner and messaging placement), working with Dev support to implement.

Site Ownership & Trading

  • Coordinate day-to-day trading across all sites - homepage, category pages, navigation, product launches, and product listings - ensuring the site reflects current stock priorities and commercial goals.
  • Own homepage and content planning, and optimise site search and merchandising to drive conversion and AOV.
  • Ensure new-in product is merchandised effectively, with hero products given appropriate prominence across the site.
  • Work closely with the Trade & Merch Lead on daily and weekly trading decisions - pricing, promotions, and markdown activity - escalating recommendations that affect margin or strategy.
  • Oversee day-to-day ecommerce operations, ensuring a seamless customer journey.
  • Monitor site performance in real time, reacting quickly to under- or over-performing lines, categories, or campaigns.
  • Own all site apps and coordinate all development projects.
  • Own promotional mechanics on-site (discount codes, sale segmentation, banner and messaging placement), working with Dev support to implement.
  • Implement and maintain the on-site SEO strategy.
  • Report on key trading and site metrics (conversion, AOV, sell-through, traffic, returns) to inform commercial decisions and flag risks early.

Trading Metrics & Reporting

  • Support to create weekly and monthly trading reporting, tracking core metrics against targets and prior periods.
  • Provide clear commentary alongside data - what happened, why, and what action is being taken.
  • Use trading data to inform buying, markdown, and promotional recommendations in partnership with the Trade & Merch Lead.

Trading Calendar Coordination

  • Coordinate the trade calendar in partnership with the Marketing Team, ensuring drops, promotions, and campaign moments are aligned across site and marketing channels.
  • Maintain a rolling view of key trading dates (new-in drops, sale start/end, promotional windows, key trading events) and communicate these clearly to the wider team.
  • Flag stock or trading risks early enough for marketing activity to be adjusted, and vice versa - acting as the key link between trading and marketing planning.
  • Support post-campaign reviews, feeding trading data into the assessment of marketing activity effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Marketing & Creative Team on campaign planning, audience targeting for promotions, and channel prioritisation.
  • Partner with Product & Merch teams on product imagery, copy, and site content needed to support trading priorities.
  • Support with any admin support required for the business including keeping core business tools such as Style Arcade are fully updated with clear and accurate data and information.
  • Liaise with Production & Import on stock timing to ensure trading plans reflect realistic delivery windows.
  • Support the Trade & Merch Lead on ad hoc commercial projects, including returns reduction and sell-through initiatives.

Core Trading Metrics Owned

The role is measured against, and expected to actively manage, the following:

  • Average order value (AOV) and average selling price (ASP)
  • Sell-through rate by style, category, and drop
  • Full-price vs markdown sales mix
  • Gross margin and intake margin by category
  • Size ratio accuracy and broken size run levels
  • Critical path and on-time launch performance
  • Return rate (by category and reason where available)
  • Stock cover and aged stock exposure Conversion rate (site-wide and by category/campaign)
  • Sessions, traffic, and channel-level contribution to trading performance
  • Promotional/campaign performance (redemption, incremental sales, margin impact)

Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Merchandising experience within fashion or a comparable fast-moving retail category, ideally across both pre-season planning and in-season trading
  • Hands-on experience with range building, pricing architecture, size ratio analysis, and markdown planning
  • Experience managing POs, SOs, stock transfers, and seasonal recodes
  • Strong commercial and numerical acumen; confident working with merch and trading data and translating it into action
  • Excellent Excel skills; comfortable building and maintaining range plans and trading reports
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage a live critical path and multiple deadlines across the trading calendar
  • Experience trading a Shopify ecommerce site, ideally on Shopify Markets and Shopify Stores
  • Strong communicator, able to work cross-functionally with Product, Production, and Marketing teams.

Desirable

  • Experience with on-site merchandising
  • Experience using merchandising tools such as Style Arcade
  • Experience with on-site SEO strategy.

Success in the First 6 Months

  • A clear, data-led range plan and pricing architecture in place for the upcoming season, built on robust pre-season analysis
  • Full ownership of the product critical path, with POs, SOs, and stock transfers running accurately and on time
  • Markdown and promotional plans delivering improved sell-through and full-price mix, with tighter control of aged stock
  • Merch and trading reports are trusted, timely, and drive real decisions
  • A high-converting site with a strong global customer journey, running in close sync with the Marketing Team on the trading calendar.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
