About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

About the role:

This role requires organisation, multitasking, and always prioritising residents' engagement with the council.

You will be an effective member of the Engagement team, prioritising the use of corporate communications and engagement resources to deliver Council goals. This will require an understanding of the council’s key policies and strategic goals, as well as regulatory requirements. You will use communications insights to inform and shape policy and strategy development, ensuring timely and professional communications and engagement input to support and influence high-level and strategic Council decision-making.

Example outcomes or objectives that this role will deliver include developing and implementing strategies to effectively engage with local communities, building and maintaining strong relationships with community groups and stakeholders, organising public consultations and events, and providing support for elected members. You will also be responsible for data collection and analysis, volunteer management, conflict resolution, and contributing to policy development. Additionally, you will assist with financial bids from resident associations and ensure effective communication and engagement across the Council.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

You will have the knowledge and experience to develop and execute a strategic communications plan that supports our organisation's goals and enhances our public image. Passionate about building relationships with various groups in and around the borough, you will address barriers to access and participation. Proactive in planning, implementing, and monitoring community initiatives, you will foster a culture of intentional engagement across services by building strong working relationships.

Your excellent teamwork, collaboration, networking, and partnership-building skills will be complemented by your ability to lead and motive support. Embracing innovation, you will actively seek out best practices and be solution-focused, constructively challenging and respectfully taking on board feedback. With experience in business case development and successful external funding bids, you will excel at maintaining relationships with community groups, media outlets, and other key stakeholders.

Understanding how to develop joint initiatives and ensure consistent messaging and collaboration across different platforms and audiences will be crucial. Your knowledge and experience in stakeholder management, networking, and influencing, while maintaining a relational approach, will enable you to support non-experts to be effective influencers. High-level abilities in written and verbal communication, along with strong interpersonal and customer service skills, will be essential.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
