The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, AI Learning Experience & Innovation based in the United States.

The Director, AI Learning Experience & Innovation will lead the design and delivery of innovative, cohort-based learning programs that help education and social-impact leaders turn real-world challenges into practical AI-enabled solutions. This role combines adult learning design, hands-on AI experimentation, program leadership, and strategic stakeholder engagement. You will shape the entire learning journey, coordinate coaches and technical mentors, and ensure that each experience responds to participants’ needs and organizational priorities. Working closely with senior leaders and partner organizations, you will build trusted relationships while navigating complex projects and evolving objectives. As a key contributor to the development of new learning models, you will use participant feedback and implementation insights to continuously improve programs and create reusable resources. This is an opportunity for a hands-on, adaptable leader who thrives in ambiguity and wants to use technology and thoughtful learning design to strengthen educational outcomes.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and facilitate AI Accelerators and other cohort-based learning experiences tailored to the needs of participating teams, organizational leaders, and executive sponsors.
  • Develop structured learning journeys, session plans, activities, resources, and delivery strategies that balance clear learning objectives with flexibility and experimentation.
  • Build practical AI-enabled solutions and demonstrate how AI tools can be applied to real-world challenges, helping participants understand and adopt effective approaches.
  • Coordinate and direct cross-functional delivery teams, including coaches, facilitators, technical mentors, and contractors, to ensure high-quality and consistent program execution.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including superintendents, nonprofit executives, and other decision-makers across education and social-impact organizations.
  • Translate emerging or ambiguous strategic priorities into clear delivery plans, adapting program scope, sequencing, and facilitation approaches as new information becomes available.
  • Manage partner relationships with the judgment and composure required for high-stakes engagements, identifying stakeholder needs and addressing challenges proactively.
  • Collect and analyze participant feedback, implementation evidence, and user insights to evaluate program effectiveness and continuously improve learning experiences.
  • Document successful approaches, develop practical resources, and establish repeatable methods that support the continued evolution and scalability of AI Accelerators.
  • Exercise independent judgment in day-to-day decisions while collaborating with leadership on matters affecting scope, resources, strategic direction, or partner commitments.
  • Contribute to the development of new learning models by testing ideas, building prototypes, and refining program approaches based on evidence and emerging opportunities.
  • Maintain momentum and quality when priorities shift, ensuring that program delivery remains responsive, relevant, and aligned with intended outcomes.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in learning design, adult education, instructional design, or a related field, with demonstrated ownership of both program design and delivery.
  • Direct, hands-on experience building with AI tools, including tangible examples of solutions created and the ability to explain the building process credibly to others.
  • Experience designing and facilitating cohort-based learning programs, professional learning communities, or other structured learning environments for adults.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous or evolving strategies into well-sequenced learning experiences and practical delivery plans, adjusting scope and pacing as needed.
  • Demonstrated success managing the operational execution of programs or initiatives, including coordinating multiple contributors toward shared objectives.
  • Experience working credibly with senior leaders through a consultancy, design lab, education technology company, or similar organization serving education or social-impact leaders. Direct K–12 school district experience is not required.
  • Comfort with uncertainty and a demonstrated ability to initiate projects, develop solutions from scratch, and move work forward without a fully defined playbook.
  • Ability to adapt quickly when priorities change, including late in a project, without compromising delivery quality or momentum.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, understand differing perspectives, and navigate complex organizational contexts.
  • A reflective and self-aware working style, including the ability to adjust personal habits and approaches to unfamiliar situations.
  • Ability to travel nationally for organizational retreats, program delivery, donor meetings, and professional development.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home office located within the United States.
  • Starting salary: $125,354 per year.
  • Maximum starting salary: $133,413 per year, depending on directly relevant experience beyond the minimum qualifications.
  • Full salary range: $113,714–$144,157 annually. The initial offer is determined according to the organization's compensation structure and relevant experience.
  • Healthcare coverage: 100% of individual employee medical, dental, and vision premiums covered.
  • Dependent coverage: 60% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for partners and dependents covered.
  • Retirement savings: 401(k) plan with a 4% employer match.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts: Options for medical, childcare, and commuter expenses.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Access to additional employee support resources.
  • Additional benefits: Benefits valued at $9,000 or more for employees.
  • Paid time off: 22 days of accrued annual leave during the first three years of employment, with five additional days accrued after the third and sixth years.
  • Additional holidays: 16 extra paid days off for holidays and other designated days, including three floating holidays that employees may use at their discretion.
  • Remote work flexibility: Work from a home office anywhere in the United States, combined with opportunities for national travel.
  • Meaningful impact: Help education and social-impact organizations use AI and collaborative learning to improve teaching, leadership, and student outcomes.
  • Professional growth: Contribute to the development of new learning models, experiment with emerging technologies, and collaborate with a nationwide community of education professionals.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
