If you're passionate about building secure, reliable, and scalable technology environments while helping shape the future of municipal technology, we'd love to hear from you.

What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Manager, Vendor & Service Delivery, the Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the City's enterprise infrastructure environment. This includes servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, security controls, backup systems, and supporting technologies that enable critical business services across the organization.

As a senior technical resource within Corporate Information Technology, you will play a key role in infrastructure planning, system modernization, project delivery, and operational support. Working closely with Information Security, business stakeholders, vendors, and fellow IT professionals, you will help ensure the City's technology environment remains secure, resilient, and positioned to support future growth.

What will you do?

In this diverse and hands-on technical role, you will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions that support organizational priorities and business operations.
  • Lead infrastructure projects including server builds and commissioning, upgrades, migrations, lifecycle replacements, and technology modernization initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize servers, virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure to ensure performance, availability, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Information Security to implement and maintain infrastructure security controls, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide advanced Tier 3 support and troubleshooting for complex infrastructure and application-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, system architecture diagrams, and support materials.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, enhance security, and support future growth.
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout project planning, implementation, and support activities.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity initiatives to ensure critical systems remain protected and recoverable.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and knowledge-sharing support to other members of the Corporate Information Technology team.
  • Collaborate with and provide backup support to other members of the Corporate Information Technology team, including participating in the after-hours on-call rotation, while contributing to a shared culture of learning and knowledge transfer.

Who you are?

You are a collaborative and solutions-focused technology professional who thrives on tackling complex technical challenges. You bring:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience implementing, managing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure and server environments.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading technology projects and coordinating technical initiatives.
  • Experience supporting enterprise server technologies, virtualization platforms, storage solutions, backups, and business-critical applications.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security principles, system hardening practices, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, systems integration, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Professional certifications related to Microsoft technologies, VMware, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or related disciplines would be considered assets.

What we Offer?

Joining our Corporate Information Technology team means becoming part of a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth are encouraged. In this role, we offer:

  • Comprehensive Health and Dental Benefits from day one to support the well-being of you and your family.

  • Access to our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) to support your overall well-being.
  • Free parking and a free annual pass to City of Leduc recreation facilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
