The Leidos Defense Electrical Systems Department is seeking talented Entry-Level Avionics Engineers for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (CHGB). The CHGB is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.

The selected candidate will be expected to execute in a fast-paced, small team environment through phases of the hardware life cycle from manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support. Primary Responsibilities.

  • Conduct non-conformances investigations of advanced digital and analog avionics electronics components including power electronics, actuators, instrumentation, sensors, embedded computers, and digital communications networks.
  • Use electrical drawings to troubleshoot test equipment and unit under test
  • Work through root cause corrective action
  • Assist in requirement decomposition
  • Prepare drawings and documentation for manufacturing purposes

Basic Qualifications.

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and 0+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to engage with external stakeholders
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics, cable/wiring diagrams, and the corresponding work instructions to produce complex assemblies and provide valuable feedback to program leadership
  • Familiarity with requirement decomposition
  • Provide rapid integration and troubleshooting support for system-level integration
  • Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of the avionics

Preferred Qualifications.

  • MS in Electrical Engineering and 0+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production of avionics components
  • Knowledge of electronics integration, test, and troubleshooting
  • Must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and test methods including the use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.
  • Knowledge of test development to support troubleshooting hardware failures
  • Knowledge of circuit design – analog, digital, power
  • Knowledge of National Instruments Software
  • Experience in a MIL-STD-810 Test Environment
  • Knowledge of ASME and IEEE standards
  • Experience supporting DoD programs related to missile systems, reentry vehicles, or hypersonic technologies
  • Prior work in assembly, integration, or testing of missile systems.
  • Experience supporting rapid development, prototyping, or fast-paced engineering programs.

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
