Leidos is seeking a dynamic Travel Construction Manager to support the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV).

This is a FULL TIME travel role, including nights and weekends.

In this role, you will support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) by providing construction oversight for projects in coordination with Project Engineers, Contracting Officer Representatives, and Contracting Officers.

You will be responsible for monitoring construction activities, reporting progress and issues, and ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and objectives. Projects support Air Traffic Control facilities across the eastern third of the United States and the Caribbean.

This position requires 100% travel (including weekends), with assignments typically lasting several weeks to months. Travel expenses are reimbursed in accordance with company and federal guidelines.

The Travel Construction Manager will provide on-site construction monitoring, coordination, and quality assurance services to ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Scope of Services

  • Lead and manage large-scale construction projects and field operations, serving as the primary point of contact for contractors, engineers, and stakeholders
  • Ensure contractor compliance with client safety policies, regulatory standards, and contract requirements through active field oversight and construction quality assurance
  • Monitor construction progress, identify risks, track deviations, and resolve complex technical and construction challenges across multiple disciplines
  • Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and work plans while supporting engineering coordination, constructability reviews, and field-driven design adjustments
  • Support inspections, commissioning, and project closeout, including tracking resolving punch list items
  • Maintain accurate reports, as-built documentation, and communicate project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders
  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems that may be unclear or have no readily apparent solution, requiring deep technical knowledge, independent analysis, and sound engineering judgment

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) with 8+ years of experience in construction of commercial, industrial, or government facilities
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, plans/specifications, building materials, and applicable codes and quality standards
  • Proven ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, and government stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams, & Outlook), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gemini & Drive); construction software tools (e.g., Bluebeam, RakenApp, or similar)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance, work flexible schedules (including nights/weekends), and meet travel requirements (valid driver’s license and passport)

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Perform essential field duties in active construction environments, including navigating uneven terrain and varying environmental conditions
  • Access elevated work areas using ladders and stairs (up to 12 flights), including in situations where elevators are unavailable or not in service
  • Work in mechanical and equipment rooms with exposure to elevated noise levels and active airfield construction conditions; occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment for up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience providing on-site construction monitoring, coordination, and quality assurance for the installation of power distribution infrastructure, with a proven ability to ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or progress toward licensure preferred.
  • Experience with design and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, P6, or Microsoft Project).
  • Experience with FAA or government construction supervision and field oversight.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
