Job Description

EFFECTIVE TEACHER TRAINING CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED.

THIS CERTIFICATE MUST BE ATTACHED IN THE DOCUMENTS PORTION OF YOUR APPLICATION FOR VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR THE POSITION.

Reports to: Building principal and/or other authorized administrators

Qualifications: High School Diploma

Successfully complete Effective Teacher Training

Nature of work: In the absence of a classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment.

Essential Functions: 1. Follows professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students and staff.

  • Interacts in a professional manner with students and staff.
  • Maintains student confidentiality.
  • Works cooperatively with all school personnel.
  1. Complies with Lenoir County Public Schools Board of Education policies.
  2. Conducts assigned classes at the times scheduled.
  3. Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.
  4. Dresses in a manner consistent with school policies.
  1. Demonstrates professional practices in teaching.
  2. Models correct use of oral and written language.
  3. Follows teacher lesson plans as required by school policy.
  1. Acts in a professional manner.
  2. Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  3. Assumes responsibility for supervising students in out-of-class settings.
  1. Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
