ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and a keen interest in financial operations? We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting activities, and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. If you are organised, proactive, and eager to contribute to a growing organization, this is the perfect opportunity for you to develop your career in finance

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- Being the owner of the day-to-day accounting duties and the posting of supplier invoices.

- Following up any supplier queries, supplier statement reconciliations, investigation of discrepancies.

- Monitoring aged creditors and following up on mitigating any pending settlements.

- Processing weekly payment runs and other ad hoc payments.

- Bank reconciliations in various currencies.

- Liaising with the Treasury team for funding needed for payments.

- Maintaining good and clear communication with various cost owners from different departments to ensure that the accruals are captured accurately.

- Calculation and maintaining of the monthly accruals and prepayments schedules.

- Assisting with processing staff reimbursement forms.

- Monthly inter-company accounting and reconciliation.

- Assisting with interim and year-end audits.

- Supporting the finance team in the adoption of AI-driven tools to improve accounting processes.

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

- Competent in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables.

- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks.

- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Well-organised, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

- Basic understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits, general ledger) gained through study or prior work experience.
