The posting

Company Overview

LevelUp is a specialist agency providing outsourcing solutions to agencies, software vendors, and website owners. For over seven years, we have successfully collaborated with a variety of companies, providing valuable technical, operational, and back-office support. We have a large team of skilled and passionate professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality work for our clients.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our US client's accounting team on a 6-month contract through the year-end close and audit season. Reporting to the Accounting Lead, this role covers accruals, month-end and year-end close, audit preparation, and financial statement preparation. We are looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail who can navigate complex Excel workbooks, trace numbers back to their sources, and solve problems independently before escalating.

Role Details

• Contract: 6 months, starting ASAP, with the possibility of extension based on performance

• Location: Remote, Philippines-based

• Schedule: 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM Philippine Standard Time

Reference: 2640-067600

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly accruals process, reviewing POs and contracts in Coupa to determine what to accrue.
  • Support month-end and year-end close, ensuring the books are accurate, complete, and closed on time.
  • Prepare interim and year-end audit support, pulling documentation and building workbooks that back up the financial statements.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, ensuring every figure ties out and resolving discrepancies such as rounding differences.
  • Prepare the annual stock option roll forward, using Carta reports to calculate weighted average stock prices and other figures for the financial statements.
  • Use prior-year work papers to investigate how balances were built and replicate them for the current year.
  • Support revenue-related work where needed.

Requirements (Must-haves)

  • Senior Accounting Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including work at a senior level or in external audit. Solid core accounting knowledge and a track record of handling complex projects, such as multi-step calculations in large workbooks that feed the financial statements, with minimal supervision.
  • US GAAP: Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience supporting US-based companies.
  • Close & Accruals: Hands-on experience owning accruals and supporting month-end and year-end close, including reviewing POs and contracts.
  • Audit & Financial Statements: Proven experience preparing audit support and financial statements, with meticulous attention to detail to ensure every number ties out.
  • Excel Proficiency: Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, plus the ability to follow complex formulas and workbooks built by others.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to investigate discrepancies, rebuild numbers from prior-year work papers, and find answers independently.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field.
  • Availability: Able to work US business hours for the full duration of the contract.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Coupa or a similar procure-to-pay platform.
  • CPA (Philippines or US).
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite as an ERP system.
  • Experience with equity accounting, stock option roll forwards, or Carta.
  • Experience working for a hosting, SaaS, or subscription-based company, including exposure to revenue accounting.

More Information

  • This is a fully remote position with a standard 40-hour fixed-schedule work week.
  • Ability to work a strict US Central Time shift (PH 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday to Friday) with no flexibility on hours.
  • We have a company culture that focuses on the well-being of its team members, with a good work life balance and respectful work environment.
  • Benefits: Basic Philippines government-mandated benefits (13th-month pay, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG), remote setup support, and holiday observance of Philippine holidays.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
