The posting

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and committed Teacher of Business to join our highly successful Social Sciences department. The ability to teach Economics would be advantageous, although this is not essential.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner. We are keen to appoint an individual with a passion for their subject and a commitment to delivering outstanding learning experiences that enable students to thrive.

Our Business department has a long-established reputation for excellence and offers a diverse and popular curriculum. In the Sixth Form, students can study A Level Business, A Level Economics, Level 3 Enterprise BTEC, and Personal and Business Finance qualifications. Student uptake is consistently strong, and the department enjoys an excellent record of achievement and progress.

As an oversubscribed Business and Enterprise Academy, Leventhorpe also serves as the lead school for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) within the Bishop's Stortford Educational Trust (BSET), providing exciting opportunities for professional collaboration and leadership development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about teaching and learning
  • Have strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Business education
  • Can inspire, motivate and challenge students to achieve their best
  • Be an effective team player who values all aspects of school life
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be committed to continuous professional development and personal growth

In return, Leventhorpe can provide:

  • Excellent facilities: To accommodate our expanding roll, Leventhorpe has completed an extensive multi-million-pound capital build programme, including a new Science and Sixth Form block and a state-of-the-art Performing Arts and English block. Previous investment included a sports complex which features a sports hall, fitness suite, dance studio, 3G all-weather pitch and floodlit tennis courts
  • A positive working environment in a heavily oversubscribed school with an excellent academic record and high standards. We place strong emphasis on student learning and achievement
  • First rate personal career development with high local and regional profile through our work with the Bishop’s Stortford Educational Trust (BSET)
  • Exceptionally dedicated colleagues and enthusiastic students
  • Priority admission for children of staff after a qualifying period

We welcome applications from both Early Careers Teachers and experienced teachers.

Closing date for applications is 12.00 noon Tuesday 24th November 2026.

Interviews will take place on Monday 30th November 2026.

Leventhorpe is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). For further guidance please refer to the Policies and Documents section of our MyNewTerm profile. It is an offence to apply for a role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
