The posting

Role Summary

Lexeo’s Commercial team is building the strategy, insights, brand and infrastructure required to bring LX2006 to patients – marking Lexeo’s transition from a clinical-stage to a commercial company.

We are seeking an Associate Director, Marketing to play a central role in preparing for the launch of LX2006, Lexeo’s first commercial product, anticipated in the US in 2028 and globally thereafter. Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing, this individual will serve as the LX2006 brand lead, owning critical launch workstreams end to end – from customer insights and competitive intelligence to market development, campaigns, customer targeting and launch readiness – and working closely with cross-functional partners in Market Access/HEOR, Medical Affairs, Patient Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Legal, CMC, and Business Development (ad hoc) as part of Lexeo’s Launch Readiness Team.

The role will also support early commercial planning for LX2020, Lexeo’s gene therapy candidate for PKP2-associated arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy.

This is a highly visible, hands-on opportunity to build a launch from the ground up and help shape the commercial foundation of a growing clinical stage company.

We welcome applications from candidates located across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

Primary Responsibilities

  • LX2006 launch strategy and brand planning: Partner with the Senior Director, Marketing to enhance and execute the LX2006 US launch strategy and brand plan, including strategic imperatives, positioning, target patient definition and the pre-launch market development plan. Translate strategy into an integrated launch roadmap and prepare materials for Launch Readiness Reviews, senior leadership and Board discussions as well as investor calls. Define launch KPIs and the analytics and CRM capabilities needed to track launch performance
  • Launch readiness leadership: Serve as a core member of the cross-functional US and ex-US Launch Readiness Teams. Drive launch timelines, deliverables, interdependencies, risks and decisions across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Patient Affairs, Market Access/HEOR, Regulatory, Clinical, Legal and CMC
  • Customer insights and market research: Lead the HCP, patient/caregiver, and payer research program for LX2006 (e.g., awareness, trial and usage tracking, demand studies, message and concept testing, advisory boards). Distill findings into clear recommendations that shape positioning, patient segmentation, evidence generation and lifecycle decisions
  • Competitive intelligence: Own the Friedreich ataxia (FA) competitive intelligence program, including key intelligence questions, monitoring of competitor clinical, regulatory and commercial activity, scenario planning and war gaming, and regular updates to leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Brand development and campaigns: Lead global brand development for LX2006, including brand naming and trademark activities, brand identity and brand book. Develop and deploy unbranded disease-awareness and branded HCP and patient campaigns across channels, managing creative and media agencies and the medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review process
  • Customer targeting and treatment center readiness: Build and refine the prescriber, account and treatment center universe across neurology and cardiology using claims and other third-party data. Define targeting and segmentation, and partner with Medical and Market Access on treatment center mapping, readiness assessments and referral pathways
  • HCP and KOL engagement: Develop and execute the commercial HCP and KOL engagement plan (e.g., KOL steering committee, peer-to-peer programs, advisory boards, medical congress presence) in compliant partnership with Medical Affairs
  • Global launch planning: Support ex-US launch sequencing and go-to-market planning, ensuring global brand strategy, insights and materials can be adapted for priority markets as LX2006 expands beyond the US
  • Field launch readiness: Develop core launch materials (e.g., sales aids, leave-behinds, websites, congress assets) and contribute to field training, launch meeting and plan-of-action planning ahead of field deployment
  • LX2020 early commercial planning: Support early commercial planning for LX2020 in PKP2-associated arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, including target product profile development, HCP and payer research, patient segmentation, market sizing and commercial input to pivotal trial design, leveraging synergies with LX2006
  • Budget and vendor management: Manage marketing budgets, statements of work and vendor relationships across market research, data, creative and strategy partners; track spend against plan and contribute to annual budget planning
  • Team building: Help scale the team as we get closer to launch and contribute to a collaborative cross-functional commercial mindset culture

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including direct marketing experience on a launch brand and/or in rare disease. Gene therapy marketing experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience developing brand strategy, positioning and HCP and/or patient campaigns, including agency management and MLR review
  • Hands-on experience designing and managing primary market research and translating insights into strategy
  • Strong analytical skills, with comfort working with claims and other secondary data, forecasts and market sizing
  • Exceptional project management skills and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority while managing multiple workstreams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into concise, executive-ready narratives for senior leadership and the Board
  • Working knowledge of US compliance requirements governing pre-approval and promotional activities
  • Self-starter with a builder mindset who thrives in a lean, fast-paced, pre-commercial environment
  • Ability to travel as needed (e.g., medical congresses, advisory boards, vendor and treatment center meetings)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Gene therapy or cell and gene therapy launch experience (significant plus)
  • Prior management or strategy consulting experience in life sciences
  • Experience in cardiology and/or neurology marketing
  • Exposure to market access, pricing and reimbursement for high-cost, one-time therapies
  • Global or ex-US launch experience, including familiarity with HTA requirements

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
