COMPANY DESCRIPTION

We are one of the largest one-stop Underground Utilities Infrastructure companies based in Singapore. We provide Underground Utilities Infrastructure construction and maintenance, sewer pipeline rehabilitation, road and airfield construction and maintenance as well as asphalt pre-mix production and construction waste recycling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a detail-oriented Draftsman to support our civil engineering and underground utilities projects. The successful candidate will prepare technical drawings, coordinate submissions and update construction and as-built drawings to meet project specifications and relevant authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed project drawings throughout the various project phases.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers and relevant stakeholders on drawing specifications, submissions and approval requirements.
  • Prepare submission-ready drawings in accordance with relevant authority requirements, including trial trench and utility detection clearances.
  • Review existing utility plans, including PUB water and sewerage and telecommunications drawings, to prepare combined services drawings and identify potential utility clashes before site execution.
  • Assess proposed cable route feasibility and coordinate necessary drawing revisions.
  • Prepare Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) plans and longitudinal profiles for construction.
  • Prepare Traffic Control Plans (TCP) in accordance with applicable LTA Code of Practice requirements.
  • Assist Quantity Surveyors and Project Engineers with quantity take-offs, including trench lengths, reinstatement areas and material schedules, based on the latest approved CAD drawings.
  • Liaise with the survey team to obtain site survey records and prepare accurate as-built drawings in accordance with applicable SP Group requirements and SVY21 coordinate standards.
  • Prepare cable as-built survey drawings using ArcFM, ArcEditor or ArcGIS Pro, where applicable.
  • Maintain an updated drawing register, including submission records, revision history and approval status, and distribute the latest drawings to project and operations teams.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or Head of Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in drafting, civil engineering or the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, identify discrepancies and coordinate drawing revisions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across project and operations teams.
  • Experience in underground utilities, cable installation or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with HDD drawings, combined services drawings and utility diversion or clearance submissions.
  • Knowledge of relevant LTA and SP Group drawing and submission requirements.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, ArcFM or ArcEditor.
  • Experience preparing as-built drawings using SVY21 coordinates.
