The posting

Working independently and exercising sound judgment and discretion, the College Success Coach is a proactive, relational guide for a cohort of Liberty University residential students. Through intentional coaching relationships, the purpose is to develop personalized success strategies that support students' academic, personal, and vocational goals. Coaches help students define what success means to them, recognizing that these goals may change, and provide ongoing encouragement and guidance as students refine their goals. The Coach serves students by fostering a sense of belonging, engagement, and perseverance by identifying barriers to success early, leveraging student data to inform outreach, and connecting students with campus resources and support systems. The role also involves tracking student progress and contributing to data-informed student success initiatives. This full-time staff position is part of the College of Applied Studies & Academic Success (CASAS) and reports to the Assistant Director of College Success Services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build intentional, developmental relationships with students through one-on-one coaching sessions, group interactions, and consistent follow-up communication via email, phone, or in-person meetings while maintaining an accurate record of student interactions and progress.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact throughout a student’s academic journey, promoting a sense of belonging and providing individualized support tailored to students' unique goals and challenges informed by academic and engagement data.
  • Equip students with the skills and confidence to use academic tools, promoting student ownership and self-advocacy, enabling students to establish and understand their own academic information.
  • Manage a caseload of students by implementing proactive, data-informed engagement strategies, including new student welcomes, non-registration interventions, and academic standing follow-ups, to foster meaningful and encouraging interactions, address barriers early, and promote student persistence.
  • Collaborate regularly with faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to support students’ academic and personal development through coordinated care, sharing relevant data insights to inform support strategies.
  • Connect students to relevant campus resources, such as tutoring, counseling, financial aid, and career services, as part of a holistic approach to student success.
  • Participate in broader student success efforts, such as recruitment events, career fairs, and retention-focused initiatives led by the university, contributing data-informed insights to enhance student engagement.
  • Perform any other student support-related duties deemed necessary by CASAS leadership.
  • Adhere strictly to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
