Applications Administrator

Life.Church

Edmond, OK

Life.Church wants to make a lasting difference in your life, in our community, and in the world. Our mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. That's how we’re able to make a difference, and it's the driving force behind everything we do.

The Applications Administrator is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of Life.Church's portfolio of enterprise software and cloud platforms, keeping the organization's IT services running, accessible, secure, and well configured. The role functions as the operations layer for IT services, sitting between the IT Support team and the IT Engineering team. The role is the point of ownership for platforms once they are in production, translating user needs into platform configurations, resolving the issues that the Helpdesk escalates, and partnering with software vendors to solve problems that cannot be resolved internally.

The Applications Administrator utilizes their skillset to deliver outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church’s mission and to reach people for Christ.

What You'll Do

  • Administer the organization's portfolio of enterprise software and cloud platforms, maintaining configurations, settings, and access controls so each platform performs reliably.
  • Monitor platform and integration health, including provisioning and synchronization between connected systems, and resolve issues or coordinate fixes within the team when they require more depth.
  • Review, test, and validate platform updates and releases, confirming changes before they reach users.
  • Administer the connections and integrations between platforms, and troubleshoot existing automations and integration workflows.
  • Administer the organization's enterprise AI platforms alongside the rest of the portfolio, including console configuration, licensing and seats, usage and cost reporting, and governance settings such as data controls and approved connectors.
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and escalation guides for the platform portfolio.
  • Administer identity and access across the platform portfolio, including Microsoft 365 and Entra ID identity operations such as user accounts, groups, roles, and license assignment.
  • Configure and maintain single sign-on connections, including SAML and OAuth application setup, and complete new application registrations.
  • Manage and troubleshoot user provisioning, including SCIM provisioning and deprovisioning, and address synchronization issues across connected platforms.
  • Manage application permissions and role assignments so access aligns with organizational policy and least-privilege principles, including access provisioning and deprovisioning at the application layer.
  • Own and work a Tier 2 escalation queue, taking on the complex platform issues escalated from the Helpdesk and driving them to resolution.
  • Partner with the IT Support team to resolve escalations, document solutions, and feed recurring issues back so they can be prevented at the front line.
  • Enable users by advising on platform capabilities, recommending approaches to accomplish their goals, and helping teams get the most value from the tools available to them.
  • Serve as an initial responder for security-related events affecting the platform portfolio, including triaging alerts and performing first-line access, multi-factor, and account actions.
  • Support security configuration and conditional access changes under established guidance.
  • Escalate confirmed or higher-severity incidents to Engineering and security leadership, with clear documentation of what was observed and what was done.
  • Open, manage, and track support tickets with software vendors, and manage escalations through to resolution.
  • Maintain working relationships with vendor support and account contacts for the platforms in the portfolio.
  • Assist the Director of IT Administration with license management, seat reconciliation, renewals, and cost tracking across the platform portfolio.

Skills Needed to Succeed

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
  • Working knowledge of identity and access management concepts and protocols, including single sign-on, SAML, SCIM, and OAuth, and directory services such as Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across integrated platforms and the ability to determine when an issue needs to be escalated.
  • Disciplined documentation habits and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and an active escalation queue.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, SaaS management, license optimization, or platform cost reporting.
  • Familiarity with automation and integration platforms and the ability to diagnose broken workflows.
  • Exposure to enterprise AI tooling administration and governance.
  • Scripting or API familiarity, such as PowerShell, Python, or Microsoft Graph.
  • Prior experience supporting a multi-site or distributed organization.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field preferred.
